A family owned and operated business, we started as an island bar in the Adelaide Arcade. After a while, we out grew the island and moved in to a shop. Then we became a store with much more than just batteries…

I think most of the other reviews sort of hit the nail on the head, this place is like chistmas morning for guys. Tons of really cool stuff and gadgets.
From a battery perspective I’m the first person to tell you that I have absolutly zero idea when the hell I’m doing. I knew I needed a round shaped one that had a plus on one side and a minus on the other. According to Dylan who was working, that isn’t really a great discription but he was able to use context clues (like looking at the dead robot machine thing I brought in) to help me find the correct new one and one top of that actually installed the new battery.
Now, I’m not saying I couldn’t have done all this myself… I’m just saying that I never was actually going to do it!

This can be seen as a classically manly shop — yes, there are lots of knives and gadgets to play with. They have a good range of Leatherman products as well as Vitorinox, and plenty of Barska binoculars from large and super strong to little portable ones.
This is also a shop for girls, if you happen to like these things, and have lots of gadgets that take a difficult kind of battery. There are lots of quite good phone covers, which are both practical, heavy duty and look good. It’s very fun to browse in here and see what their latest toy is.
However, I find that if I know what I’m looking for, it’s much cheaper to nip into a Jaycar to buy batteries. I think of this place as more of a gifts and gadgets shop.

Battery Bar is a man zone. I am not saying that they don’t stock products for the fairer sex, in fact there are quite a few, but the vast majority of products are targeted towards manliness. Torches (even ones you wear in mines!), Knives, Tools, remote controlled wonders and even LED Dog collars, you can find them all there. There is even a cool remote controlled chopper that you can control with an app on your ipad… über cool!
Of course they also stock B.A.T.T.E.R.I.E.S! I used to lick batteries, I was a weird kid.

Battery Bar is the place I head to when I need to buy something for a guy. So naturally it was perfect when looking for presents for our groomsmen when we got married.
Ended up getting swisse army knives, which the guys loved. This is the type of place where I can leave my husband to go and do the shopping and know that he’ll still be in the same stop when I get back 2 hours later.
