Dim Well Cafe

This the best Chinese /​Yum Cha I’ve ever had. Great service, beautiful staff Awesome owner. Incredible Tasty Food.

Yum cha goes fast food!
If you are starving and can’t be bothered waiting for the yum cha trolley/​next round to arrive with your favourite prawn and whatever dumpling Dim Well is the café to make a bee line for. Sunday arvo 2pm and the queues are still way too long at all our Gouger St yum cha faves — enter NKOB Dim Well. Immediately seated and requested to select off the menu with the instruction there will be about a 10 minute wait.
Starving hungry our table of four were ready to eat the next plate of chicken feet flying past (well sort of almost ready!) and we with a flurry we suddenly had plates and steamers arriving left, right and centre. Which was good and not so good as we all agreed in order to savour each perfection of steaminess dumplingness we needed at least a few minutes between the arrival of each selection. In fact out mango puddings arrived on our already overly crowded table before we had finished our savouries!
Phillip the manager is ex Ying Chow so he’s got excellent Gouger Street cred — the price is right, the service is slick and with the new décor they’re rearing to go. Whoa — ask them to slow down or if you’ve only got a half for lunch — ask them to keep it coming.

Try deep fried egg plant and salt & pepper squid. Good staff and efficient service. I put this restaurant on Unilocal map.
