Every so often your doctor is likely to suggest you go get a blood test for some reason or other and if you are inside the public health system you are most likely to be refereed by the same doctor to the IMVS Pathology lab near you. I happen to be closest to the one in the city in Frome Road so that’s where I go for the removal and testing of blood. Not always now, sometimes depending on where I may be I could end up going to another one — but most frequently it’s Frome Road. They have always been efficient, made me feel comfortable and never left me looking like a bruised junkie which is more than I can say for some doctors who have decided to try taking the blood themselves and had trouble finding the vein. All in all IMVS is a secure and safe service that will take your blood for a diagnosis and send the outcome to your doctor. This particular IMVS is located on the northern side of the Royal Adelaide Hospital grounds. Access to the multi-story hospital car park is via Frome Rd just before the Dental Hospital then you’d walk up the hill towards North Terrace. I’m more inclined to take public transport myself because it is a little tricky to find from Frome Road seeing as they are inside the Adelaide Hospital site. I tend to enter via North Terrace where the signs are a little more obvious. Look for the direction sign in between the corner of Frome and North, if you have gone as far as the Hospital entrance go back as it is before the main entrance. They Bulk Bill, and you can just tuen up and wait your turn; the most I’ve waited is fifteen minutes.
