I remember coming down here during my time at secondary college at the end of every term and taking the games room all to ourselves. We had some great times down here then, though the games room has long since gone. In more recent times we made this one of our regular spots for Friday lunches(namely because the guy who organised them worked in the building above the Myer Centre and was too lazy to pick anything that was more than an elevator’s journey away). I’ve even been down here on Friday and Saturday nights when the restaurant suddenly vanishes to be replaced by a night-club. It tends to be quite dark down here so that is probably why I never notice the 18 year olds all jumping up and down on the dance floor, but we still had fun.

As previous reviews have mentioned, the London Tav is a restaurant /pub by day and a seedy bar filled with drunk girls and cheap drinks by night. That really does sum it up but I guess I should probably say a little more. The London is one of the first places that many young revelers go after turning 18(well…they did in my day…). That’s just the kind of demographic you’ll find here. Free entry on Fridays but they charge a cover fee after 10pm(I think) on Saturdays. The drinks, however, are still cheap. If beer’s your thing, you’re set — you can get em for $ 2 here! Add in $ 3 wines and $ 3 skittle bombs and you’ll be getting low with shawty on the dancefloor in no time! The floors are sticky, though and the toilets are an absolute disgrace(you can smell them before you get to them…) That being said, this place is still a lot of fun, with the DJ consistently playing floor fillers, if you’re up for a fun spirited night of dancing and don’t really care about being seen where the cool kids hang, then you’ll be alright here!

Not too sure what to make of this place! Its is underground so no windows or outdoor spaces for a start! However i have only been here during the day… so not sure how lively/kicking it is at night… seems to have the dance floor and lighting etc so i guess it is a good spot! The daytime is where im not sure about it though… i have turned up here 3 times looking for pub lunch and always found it to be really empty, the tables and chairs stacked — so no choice of seats, no menus anywhere and hardly any staff! There are adverts on the TV’s and walls about food but im yet to see any! Maybe i should try another time of day!!!

The London is located on North terrace, also you can get into it by going in the myer center on rundlemall on the bottom floor in the corner of the food court. Been here a few times mostly in the day/afternoon for a quick drink, each time it has been really quite, but have heard it can get busy here at nights. The place has plenty of space and seating aswell as a good size dance floor.

I would love to accompany a health inspector through this venue. I believe the exchange would go a little something like this: ‘Excuse me manager, is that a. a drunk girl, under the couch there? Why yes Mister Health Inspector, I believe it is. Uhh huh. How long would you say she’s been there? Ooh by the looks of her… since Friday? Usually takes about forty eight hours for the under eighteens to stand up again. It’s four dollar vodkas on Fridays, you see.‘ Cheap drinks! Cheap drinks! Did you kids hear they have cheap drinks? This place is a bit of a dive on weekends, but it’s a damn popular one for the many reasons listed above. Do not go here to meet people because the people often get into fights. Do not go here to have a nice chat, because it gets bloody rowdy Saturday nights. Go here to drink. And for God sakes if your friend tells you not to hook up with that girl or guy, listen to them, you’re pissed.

I’ve been to the Tav a few time for meals. In that respect, it’s a great place. The food has an interesting twist on general pub fodder and it comes at bargain basement prices. A smart move on their part considering how much student traffice they get walking past and in on the weekends. The décor’s a bit off for a place you just want to sit down and have a munch, but I keep coming back However, the club aspect of the Tav is pretty damn seedy. I’ve been one or twice and didn’t stick around long. The music is quite average and the patrons are pissed out of their heads. I’ve seen countless fights outside the Tav. Then again, the drink specials are alluring. There’s probably a connection in there somewhere. If you’re looking for a big night out, or a link in the chain of your pub crawl, head to the Tav, but for a few quiet beers, you’d best try elsewhere.

British Pub. Check. Restaurant. Check. Nightclub. Check. The London Tavern does a lot. It has a surprisingly large amount of floor space hidden under their tables. They do probably the best schnitzels inside the mall, they also have some great daily $ 11.90 lunch specials. Monday — Schnitzel, Tuesday — Fish & Chips, Wednesday — Curry Day, Thursday’s — $ 12.90300gm MSA Rump Steak & Friday’s — Stir-Fry day. As far as it’s nightclub aspect, it’s often quite busy on weekend nights. A great place to start your night.

13/12/20111 photo It’s more than just a pub, it’s also a restaurant nightclub. Once you step in, one will immediately be hit by the combination of colourful blue, red and black surrounding walls and the posh and classy impression of London Tavern is not for the weak. The customer service attendant is already there waiting, ready for your order and if you don’t know what you want, you will be asked to sit down with your menu and have a quick scan of the many choices. Their one-of-a-kind interior design is a type I’ve never seen before in a pub — think Valentine’s Day meets Saturday Night Disco Club. This takes lunch in the city to a new level! I stopped by after work to enjoy a quick glass of lemon lime bitters and decided to try their eye-catching yet mouthful ‘London Burger’ for the first time, and the generous serve of beef definitely got rid of my hunger within the first few bites. My one and only caution: I really liked how well the London burger was set up and presented, and this compensates for the extra amount of time it took for them to prepare it. However, please don’t leave the fat on the bacon, or put way too much lettuce in the burger. I don’t mind having bacon in my burger, but please cut off the fat. I did like their indoor elements of food, bar, and nightclub but you either get intoxicated rude customers or a very low attendance of customers, and I hate waiting for ages in the lineup on Saturday night, when they remove all the tables and magically transform into a nightclub. By the way, please remove that photo-taking booth in front of the toilets. I personally don’t see the need for that in a pub/nightclub. Oh yeah, there seems to be nothing stopping the intoxicated customers raving on about something bad that happened to them during their day.
