This is a great location, ok food, priced well, but they don’t have a single baby seat. Had the Char Koay Teow and Nasi Lemak Chicken Curry which were ok and above average.

It’s been a few months since i last visited the place. Oh. New stuff on the menu. That’s good. That’s what I’ll order then. Hainanese chicken rice, let’s see how they fare. My wife ordered curry chicken with rice. It’s good that they changed the menu too. I remember previously we had to order the rice and curry separately. Other than the new items on the menu, there’s a new change too. Eftpos payment. Omg. Lol. Why do i seem so surprised at such a common payment method? Because for the past few years that i frequent the place they have always been a cash society. So much so that a couple of times i just turned around and dined elsewhere because I’m too lazy to walk over to westpac atm machine. Ok, nuff of all those. Food is here. Mine came first. It’s a yay. Juicy chicken thigh meat with a big bowl of rice, served with 2 condiments and a bowl of soup. The 2 condiments are soya sauce and chilli. They seems to have added a hint of vinegar to the soya sauce, as it doesn’t taste like your normal soya sauce. The chilli feels homemade and it’s really spicy if you eat it without rice or meat. I might be wrong about how they prepared these condiments though. It’s a guess after all. I weren’t prepared to ask them how they do it. Not my nature. :p The meat itself is good and fair amount for one to finish the rice with. The rice itself can maybe do better because the aroma of the chicken broth isn’t as distinct enough, so it’s a bit bland if you compare to Ricky’s. The bowl of soup is generous enough for 4. In a blind food taste, I would say that their condiments are the differentiator between other ppls offering. What about my wife’s meal? A nay. Considering that they are selling roti and curry is a major part of the meal, the curry is a fail. I’m not sure if i caught them on a bad day or what but the curry is watery today. Wife is rather upset with that. We have tried their curry in the past and it’s always ok enough for our taste bud. Did they changed the recipe? I’ll still visit the place every now and then for their roti, it’s not my favorite eating place but they are still decent enough in my opinion.

No! No! No! This place is not value for money. The laksa hardly had any toppings and the broth was rather thin. I asked for a little chili. When the staff came back she said it would cost an additional $ 1.50! Unheard of in an asian restaurant(I only needed a teaspoon). Avoid this restaurant and try somewhere where the owners are less greedy.

‘ve walked passed this unassuming Asian eatery many times and it always smells divine. Last week I ducked in for a quick bite between fringe shows with my hubby. We only had a short time so let the waitress know and asked for a recommendation of dishes that would be produced quickly by the kitchen. She suggested we try a rice and curry and we both opted for the chicken curry. Oh my gosh the food arrived so quickly and was just so good. The fragrant broth was exquisite and the meat was succulent. A really simple dish, perfectly served. I’ll be back soon to try their many breads on offer which are all made fresh. They also sell boiled eggs for a dollar. My kind of establishment.

Delicious curries, full of flavour and perfectly spicy. The roti canai was great as well, maybe a wee bit greasy, but just as tasty as at the curry houses in KL. Will definitely come back!!!/ Excited to have found a perfect curry in Adelaide.

Really cheap and good food! The curry and the roti are fresh and full of spice! Perfect for a quick lunch if you’re in the area.

Not a fan of this place. I may have just made a wrong choice or maybe the chef was having a bad day considering the other rave reviews. But the vegetarian curry and rice was gross. Very bland. It was as if the vegetables were just chillin in orange water. Not nice at all. Maybe avoid the curries? As the roti that I saw other people have looked delicious.

Slip into Mamak Corner if you love a good serving of Roti Chanai(or one of the other varieties) or some very tasty Malaysian Curries plus noodle and rice dishes(something for everyone) I had the lunch special, a Roti, Curry and a Malay drink. the Roti is stretched and cooked fresh in the window for passers by to see, this is served with a couple of delicious curry dipping sauces(and some sugar if you like it a bit sweet) I have the Beef Curry and oh yes, it was very tasty, the meat juicy and tender, a couple of chunks of potato included and all bathed in a(not to) spicy curry sauce. Highly recommended

Mamak Corner has cheap and easy food. The menu isn’t too big, the options aren’t too confusing, and the prices are incredibly small. I love being able to go here and the roti for only around $ 5. It may not seem like a full sized meal, but it’s perfect when you’re not too hungry. Their roti planta is my absolute favourite, it’s buttery and sugary and has a fantastic crispness to it. This dipped in the fish curry is delicious. They also have drinks, other mains, and desserts. Sometimes the service has been a little slow here, but it’s always friendly so I can never complain.

I don’t know where to start. This place is amazing. Best roti canai I’ve hand in Australia. Everyone has got to get into this place. Highly recommend the fish curry, lamb curry and their ayam goreng is yummo! To top it off the guys and girls that work here are so friendly and helpful if you need guidance through the menu. Their meal and drinks deals are great value. How can anyone complain when you get change back from $ 15!

Being Malaysian and growing up on mamak food(that’s hawker street food for the rest of you), I jumped in excitement when I found out that Mamak Corner had recently opened its doors. It’s about time. Reflecting the open air(although the café isn’t) hawker food type, you’ll find most of the Malaysian hawker food on the menu. From the spicy and super delicious nasi lemak as Chloe mentioned to the various types of roti canai’s, Malaysia just got a bit closer on the map of SA! I checked out their summer menu and all I can say is. just like home! Ice kacang(a sweetened dish with ice shavings), cendol and the famed teh tarik is a winner! Find them just across the main Adelaide train station. Definitely cheaper than Kopitim.

Somewhere between lettiing my Malaysian friend’s Mum load me up with food and overnight stopovers in Kuala Lumpur, I’ve gotten a real taste for Malaysian food. Dried fish, peanuts, cucumber, sambal and of course roti canai. I usually go to Kopi Tim for my Malaysian fix, but the opening of Mamak Corner off of Hindley St suits me just fine. I’m not that into green plastic décor, but I am really into dinner for under ten bucks. Last week I herded my friends here for a quick meal before going out for drinks. I have a fixation with peanuts, so I got the nasi lemak. I love meals that come with a selection of little condiments and accompaniments. We also got roti canai(fluffy and light, comes with an assortment of curry dipping sauces) and a roti with egg cooked in between the layers. The roti were delicious — not too oily or burnt. The egg one was a little on the soggy side, but nothing worth complaining about. i also got a Teh Tahrik — a cooled sweet milk tea. The flavour is a little strange — sweet and nutty — but I think most people would like it. The prices are super cheap, so I wouldn’t complain if the service wasn’t amazing. It was pretty good though! The food came out super quick. The food here won’t blow your mind, but it also isn’t oily or bland. Cheap, quick and tasty!
