McMahons

McMahons is my one stop shop for the best quality and decently priced fruit and veg.
I am a regular at this market stall going there once a week. I find that the fruit and veg from McMahons will last longer and taste fresher than anything I buy from the supermarket.
Not only is the food great, the staff are too. Always happy to help and recommend their product! I recommend them to everyone. See you next week! :)

It is my personal opinion that McMahons is one of the better Fruit and Vegetable Stalls in the Adelaide Central Market. First of all is its great location right as you step off the escalators and as it sits on a double stall site, you know there will be plenty of room for fresh and yummy produce.
McMahons is family owned and run and has loads of helpful and friendly staff who are really knowledgeable about the produce and can tell you the difference between celeriac and celery. They are most well known for their range of SA local tomatoes which will see Central Market customers go there just for their tomato needs.
All of the produce is Australian or South Australian grown and if it is not the produce is clearly marked which is in great support of South Australian famers and their produce.

I tend to shop at the same few fruit and veg places in the market and McMahons is one of my regular stalls. It isn’t one of the cheapest but the quality is always good and they have a great selection compared to some of the smaller stalls. You can also pick up a basket and roam around ending up at the checkout, which is easier than juggling veggies in your hands while rummaging in your purse.
I usually buy most of my fruit here especially things like berries, mangoes and avocados. They often have different fruit and veg bagged up on sale especially towards the end of the Saturday markets, a good time to shop for bargains. The staff here are always friendly although to be honest I haven’t met too many unhappy people at the markets.
