This is such a cool place. They do amazing baked goods. Oh, the best? Those tarts, of various flavours. Think of lemon, salted caramel, espresso, passionfruit tarts with thin crispy crust, so yummy :) they do coffee too, have yet to try but it is in my book to try soon!

So tiny a shopfront you could miss it… but DON’T ! Here it is as authentic as it gets and whilst perched on a stool waiting for my Latte and Pain au chocolate, I quite forgot that I wasn’t in Paris. I got to brush up on my French, learn a bit more, chat with other attendees… but wait there’s more… Once I sunk my teeth into the Pain au chocolate I really was teleported to the back streets of Paris. Honestly, taste buds don’t lie and it really doesn’t get any better than this. They have all manner of milks to suit your needs, different croissants, and delicacies to boggle your eyes and warm your heart. They are all made with love on the premises. You may have to wait a few minutes for your coffee while someone else’s is being hand crafted, but your turn will come and you will wonder why you went to any of the competition in the vicinity. I also learned that what I thought was a fluent way of asking for the loo actually meant«I need to take a piss!» and that asking«Ou sont les toilettes» is a much more polite and acceptable way!!! OOOPS! ps. closed Sunday and Monday

Missing Au Matin Calme and Naughty Spot? Don’t despair! Remy & Violette is here to ease your pain with the pastries, cakes, croissants, waffles, baguettes and gorgeous coffee you’d come to rely on! Not much space in here but it’s a beautiful little jewel box of a place, and the atmosphere makes for a lovely quiet morning or afternoon coffee. They’re opening softly softly, so stay tuned for weekend options. When you start a new thing it’s best to gauge your capabilities before trying to do everything. What they’re doing so far has been done extremely well. Rejoice, Adelaide East End Francophiles! The darlings of Hutt Street have returned!
