There seem to be mixed reviews for this place, so I thought I’d add mine to the mix! I have been here many times and had a good experience each time. I’ve been greeted warmly upon approaching the stall and staff have backed off while I’ve been choosing and not adding pressure. I find it a quick and easy place to buy tasty sushi. I don’t like food halls generally and I don’t like waiting, so a quick and easy option suits me well in this situation. I have found the sushi to be fresh and tasty. Today I tried the cold rolls(they call them summer rolls) and they were fresh, very filling and came with an option of 3 dipping sauces. I also like the proximity to T-Bar, so I can order my takeaway tea and while it’s brewing I can grab some sushi!

Taki is overpriced as previous reviewers have stated. The sushi that I had was old, rubbery and full of mayo. The waitress barked out«what you want??» at me as soon as I approached the counter to see what they had, which was less than polite. This place also indulges in the hateful practice of tacking on a 30c surcharge for credit card transactions — cmon Adelaide, get into the 21st century!

In the new Rundle Place food court is Taki. a place to get some Sushi and Tepanyaki food. I chose to go some Teryaki Chicken. It’s OK. the taste is Teryaki for sure. it’s ready at an instant. Well it’s all pre-made and in convenient trays to be handed to you straight out of the bane-marie. As such the crispy skin I was expecting was anything but. might eat there again but there’s a much nicer place not too far away

Quick and easy food court Japanese! Reasonably priced, freshly made in front of you if you order the Teppanyaki and definitely fulfilling. I also have to say, they also have great service. One of the employees literally greets every customer with the same smiling enthusiasm each time, it was incredible — even when they were just passing by and not necessarily buying anything! This is something that can sometimes lack from fast(er) food establishment. This store really compliments the Rundle Place food court.
