The Beigelry, I keep hearing good things about this spot and I can see why. I’ve never had a true New York style bagel(accept no substitutes) apart from the supermarket ones which is more like bagel shaped bread… So I was happy to find out that these bagels have that characteristic chewiness. I ordered the ‘Everything Bagel’(sesame poppy and another thing) with a schmear of jalapeño cream cheese. I went with a friend but it was really hot and stuffy(humid day) at the store so we walked a while before eating. The first bite was epiccc! Normally I don’t like eating cream cheese by itself because it’s too rich. With the jalapeño(+chives) cream cheese, I didn’t get that overwhelming dairy rich sensation. It’s so full of flavour too, I was surprised at how tasty the combination was despite not getting toppings or extras. It’s not spicy at all because of the cream cheese and it has a nice savoury quality to it from the chives. One small issue I had was that the bagel was a bit too chewy for me, my jaw had it’s own workout and was starting to get sore by the time I finished. I’ll definitely try to come in earlier for fresher bagels. I think the owners are going for authenticity because of their bagel combos(salt beef and pastrami, hell yeah) as well as the well known lox. Which is nice because bagels in Adelaide need more love. I’m definitely coming back here again because I was pretty happy with what I got. For $ 5 a bagel it’s a tasty snack and certainly more wholesome than Maccas and KFC. They also make for great photos!

Perfect place for anyone who is after a quick small lunch. The store itself is hidden away in Topham Mall, took me a while to find it(Damn google maps). A little tip is to pop in before 12, as the afternoon lunch rush is crazy! But the staff do work fast though. Greeted by a team of friendly staff with such efficiency in their ordering system was really nice to see. Staffs were extremely helping in helping customers decide which bagels goes well with which fillings. And boy, were there a lot of bagels to choose from but the staff can help you choose which bagels goes well with what fillings. I ordered the smoked salmon filled bagel on the Dill because I love smoke salmon. It contained smoked salmon, cream cheese and your choices of free extras. Each bagels comes with a side of pretzels which were a really nice extra. The bagel itself with the fillings, tasted absolutely phenomenal. It wasn’t soft and yet wasn’t too crunchy. Definitely has to go on my list of best bagel place in Adelaide. Overall The Beigelry was fantastic. I will definitely be back again, and will be recommending it to most of my friends. And to all those who have not visited The Beigelry, get on it!

What bagels in Adelaide? No way I said! I love bagels, so of course I had to check it out. The store feels like more of sandwich shop than a cool bagel place. I ordered the cinnamon and currant with nutella spreading, which I could have done myself, and paid $ 4 for it. The bagel was alright but nothing special. The staff also seemed a bit nervous and unsure, but I guess that is teething issues. I just wanted a bit more. Sorry.

I finished up my lunch and there was a whole that still needing filling, with donut preferably. But then I remembered The Beigelry and thoughts was a great chance to take a look. I made the short walk to the newly revived Topham Mall and went in search of a dessert bagel, should such a thing even exist. The shop is small but nice, has a no frills modern feel to it. Gives you the distinct impression that these guys are serious about bagels. A quick look at the menu showed that there were lots of options, including a bagel with Nutella. Sold. The friendly guys behind the counter helped me navigate my options, eventually teaming Nutella with a cinnamon bagel. This combo is immense, thats the only way to describe it. The bagel had a perfect cinnamon kick that was perfectly balanced by the Nutella spread. I’m so glad I didn’t buy that donut. The other reason I wanted to com here was that i knew these guys stock ice cold Mischief Brew cold brew coffee which accompanied the bagel nicely. For 9 bucks I walked out with an awesome snack and the best cold brew in Adelaide, I walked out a happy man.
