Normally i pick the healthy options but for wicked wedges like these. I will happily splurge anyday of the week

Try as you might, you will not find the entrance to a spaceship hidden under the pub(though the bartender flatly refused to allow me to pull the levers on any to the taps to make sure). However that does not necessarily knock stars off of this place because it has certainly changed since the last time I was here. It is no longer that grungy and dirty pub that sits to the west of the Hindley Street ‘entertainment precint’(as the commentator on the tram describes it), but a pretty cool venue with and awesome beer garden, and even a balcony that gets you away from the crowds down below(if there were any because it was pretty late when we got here and had just visited eleven other pubs beforehand).

Back in my day you would walk into this place and out the back and think the world had ended. Since then a refurb has created a shabby-chique outdoor sheltered seating area, a pleasant indoor dining room and all the while retained the«pov student feel» in its bar and toilets. Worldsend is another one of Adelaide’s great live music venues. There are always a number of great SA acts on out in the beer garden and great drink specials every night to help keep on a budget. I can’t quite bring myself to a 5 star rating here though… and I’m going to generate some haters with what I say next but… The beer garden is so small and as a result every single smoker who exists in Adelaide, who likes to see a live show without having to duck out every 5 minutes to have a fag, goes here.*** As a result, yours truly was coughing and spluttering all night to the point I had to leave a show early. Maybe I’m fussy, but I guess it has become more noticeable since they banned smoking in pubs. Aside from that this place has a very laid back and enjoyable atmosphere. You don’t have to dress to the nines, you can dance around like a child of Woodstock and everyone is there to mellow out on one or more different substances. *** Probably not all of them at once, but I can see the appeal.

The Worldsend is another one of my favourites, and is the perfect place to catch up with some old friends over a beer or two(or ten). There’s a great atmosphere here, much like across the road at Enigma Bar. Everyone’s interested in having a good time, and nobody wants to fight. Those are two things that I like when I go out, and so long as the beer keeps flowing and the laughs keep coming, you’re guaranteed a great night out. The food here is great, and both meals and drinks are very affordable. They have James Squire varieties on tap(which isn’t something you see too often), and you can get nice and pissed up without spending more than a fifty. The life of the party is at the outdoor areas, located both in front of the bar and out the back in the beer garden. The beer garden is where I like to spend most of my time, sat cosily in their wooden benches and seeing everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves. The Worldsend also have regular live performances, many being acoustic. There’s nothing better than a good little singalong after a few pints!

Some say the end is near, some say we’ll see Armageddon soon! Well I’m down with that if I’m hanging out here with some cheap drinks and good friends. This is a student sanctum, where UniSA folk flock after a hard day at uni. I’m often there by midday for a sneaky drink between classes, and can often find myself back there in the evening for more. The food is good, the drinks are cheap and the atmosphere is laid back. What more can you wish for? There’s lots of places to kick back, whether it be out the front checking out the«talent» on Hindley Street, at the front bar, sitting down for a meal, or in the popular beer garden out back. The beer garden is always my area of choice, always filled with an interesting bunch.

I have been to The Worldsend, it’s a Hotel in case anyone was curious. Now I have a point to make to all the sex crazed drunkards out there. Please, do not try and have sex with each other in the beer garden while I am trying to enjoy my beer, may I add this has happened twice? security? I like it here, it’s a little grungy, a little lopsided and there is some neat art hanging around the place; If artwork says it’s a good place to be then get me a beer because so do I. You can chill inside and shoot some pool, lounge in the front bar in the darkness or come join me outside for some free entertainment. after all, third times the charm. Don’t let its out appearance fool you, there are good times to be had in this drowning hole, I say grab a group of friends and hit up the beergarden with a couple of jugs for an easy night.

The ultimate student hang out. Worldsend is a great place on Wednesday nights. I’d strongly suggest everyone take advantage of the $ 2.50 schooners of James Squire after 9pm. I will no doubt be spending December 20th2012’s night here(2012 hoo haa bs). Their«beer garden» feels more like the backyard entertainment area of your friends’ well off parents. I like it. Plenty of tables indoors and out the front for dining as well. THeir food is very decent as well as the prices. They do a mean schnitzel that’s for sure.(Mean in a good way, not in the way that it would call you bad names and insult your honour).

Q: Where do you go when the world blows up? A: The Worldsend Hotel! *tap, tap, tap* is this thing on? It’s not the end of the world, but you can see the golden arches from here (I’m here all week, try the veal) But seriously, I did order the schnitzel. It was great, and came with a free pint. The food is very good here, and the prices are very reasonable too, offering casual meals at the front bar, as well as a more intimate dining area inside. I always have a great time at Worldsend, whether sharing conversations with close mates, or as a starting point to a big night. I always leave with a smile on my face(Granted, I’m usually drunk when I leave, so I guess some credit must go to the alcohol). Please note: I’m writing this review from the beer garden, which is why it makes very little sense. I also must go now, or else I’ll be late for work.

Open from lunch to late(although maybe not so late earlier in the week) on weekdays, Worldsend is the local for students at UniSA CIty West Campus. I often drop in on a Thursday or Friday afternoon, but mostly because it is close by — it’s not my favourite place to have a drink. The dining room is gloomy rather than grungy. The street art in the beer garden lightens stuff up a little but it isn’t ‘my cup of tea’ — it’s a little overbearing. That said, I generally have a pretty good time here drinking golden ale after uni. There are regular happy hours, and if you get a drinker’s card you can drink James Squire for a dollar or two cheaper than anywhere else. The outdoor seating can get a little noisy with cars driving past, but it has the advantage of being on the thoroughfare out of the uni — friends walk past and stop for a pint.
