It was a lazy Friday thanks to all of Brisbane having a public holiday for G20. But for some of us outside the zone, it was business as usual. A lovely surprise when our Manager decided to take the sales team to lunch and the decision made for Portabello at Albany Creek. How nice is this place? Full to capacity, even people waiting in the bar — the décor is fresh but welcoming. We were seated outside on the verandah, out of the sun and the breeze kept it nice and cool. Service was quick and professional and menu was pleasing. Loved seeing lunchtime menu options where you could choose 1,2 or 3 courses and between 2 price level menus. We shared the dips & bread platter — very tasty. Our mains arrived and looked amazing. The fish of the day(barramundi), looked succulent and my colleague thoroughly enjoyed it. Our managers Pork Belly with duck fat potatoes smelt & looked good and he loved it. I had the Pork Belly & Sweet Potato salad which was just so good. All washed down with cold ciders. Just so nice to find a restaurant of city quality without having to do all the travelling. Will definitely return to this suburban hot spot — would love to try it on a warm summer’s night.

Excellent service. Quick to seat us even without a booking. We were attended to by two wait staff to make sure we had drinks, orders taken promptly, food delivered quickly after it was put up by the kitchen and our glasses were filled with water. Was achieved discreetly and efficiently, and without hovering. The food was amazing. The chicken croquettes with chive dip and crispy pork belly salad was to die for. Prices are above average but for the food you are eating and service you are receiving, well worth it. The specials are good value, however they don’t match what they have on their website. I would have no hesitation in eating here again and recommending to friends.
