We offer a wide range of beers and ciders on tap and by the bottle, many reds, whites and sparkling wines by the glass, espresso coffee and our kitchen is cooking delicious meals and share plates.

Our sports bar includes a TAB and sports on 5 different plasma TVs, our dining room offers full table service with ocean views, and our courtyard is the largest outdoor licensed area in any beachfront venue in Melbourne.

Also on offer is beautiful alfresco dining on our footpath on Victoria Avenue — a fantastic spot for some sunshine, fresh air, and cheeky tipple and some seafood cooked up by our passionate chefs.

We still serve up our famous steaks at $ 14 on Wednesday evening, as well as beer battered fish’n’chips at $ 14.

Come on down on a Tuesday evening and enjoy our $ 20 Pot & Parma night. With four choices of parma topping; Aussies, Sicilian, Hawaiian and Traditional.

On Fridays from 3−7pm is happy hour which includes cheap basic spirits, house wines and beers on tap.

With the sort of location landlords dream about The Beach Hotel could be an absolute belter of a pub, instead it’s just okay.
The interior of the sports bar is unimaginative, sparsely decorated save for a few tables and stools dotted around plus about 5 TV screens playing sport and horse racing. There’s also a self-​service betting machine.
It kind of feels like the Beach is hedging its bets a bit. Going for the punter crowd and the Sunday afternoon summer crew at the same time and it doesn’t quite nail either. The view is great though and I’m sure it still gets packed here in summer.
I didn’t check out the restaurant but the sports bar section is nothing to write home about. Even on the night of the Rugby World Cup semi-​final with Aus v NZ hardly anybody was around and that says it all.

There’s something a bit depressing about The Beach Hotel. I’m largely going to put this down to the proliferation pokie machines: yuck. It’s interesting to note how this simple addition can change the whole vibe of a place. Rather than the swish beach front establishment that they were so obviously going for, it just seems like a lame gamers lounge.
This place has so much potential, with one of the best locations in Melbourne and a nice old venue. What we need is for a new owner to harness this and take The Beach up to the level that it could be.
And get rid of those terrible pokies.

The Beach is where bad masochists go when they die. Rather than pain, it’d simply be hour upon hour of mindless, pointless tedium. You’d watch the TV on their big screens, drink their over-​priced beer, and play the pokies. Forever.
Call me crazy, but I think I’ll pass.
