This little bakery is run by the most adorable sweet little old ladies. You really get the sense that you are talking to and eating your favorite grandma’s bakery! The prices are reasonable and the service is great… I left smiling and know il be taking advantage of this place considering I work so close to it!

Decided to try this bakery once, as opposed to the adjacent Bilo, to buy hamburger buns. Not only were the buns I purchased double the price of those in Bilo — they were also stale — it was 2pm, not as if they’d be sitting around for long — unless they were, as I suspect, baked the previous day. Didn’t buy anything else that day but the rest of the food looked tired and horrible. Not impressed, won’t be back that’s for sure.

Charlie’s Bakery is another one of the small businesses in Alderley Plaza getting a knock in the bollocks from developers. Which is a real shame, because this little bakery has a surprisingly good range, and specialises in Polish bread. The bakery treats are Aussie classics(think vanilla slice and neenish tarts) but they’re done pretty well, and the pies are good. The bread is soft and fresh, although I’d stay away from the breadstick if you’ve ever eaten a real baguette.
