I’m expanding my work lunch horizons by looking for places a little closer to the city try out and Try Thai popped up on the map. It’s in one of those tiny neighbourhood shopping strips where you’d usually find a low key hairdresser or a Ma & Pa takeaway shop so it’s not really the sort of place you’d eat-in or hang around. I ordered a prawn pad-see-ewe but it definitely seemed more like a pad-thai. No thick noodles or sticky dark sauce. It wasn’t bad though. It definitely tasted good but it made me feel really heavy and full. I do enjoy the fact that they’ve got a little loyalty program, though. You can get your menu stamped each time you purchase a meal. Your 4th meal will get you a free roti bread and you 8th meal is totally free(excluding seafood dishes).

Try Thai has founds it’s way back into the hands of the original owners and man, am I glad?! It’s been a long time since I’ve had the privilege of devouring one of the most authentic tasting Green Thai curries in Melbourne and it didn’t disappoint. Owned and operated by an amazingly humble family, there isn’t a foot out of place in this gem of a restaurant. Catering to singles, couples, small groups and large, it really is a great place to go to for VERY affordable meal. Try Thai, please don’t ever leave me again!
