My very first restaurant experience in Australia did not disappoint! This cute little café had some great breakfast options. I had the shakshuka, which included sausage – an interesting twist. It was very delicious, and the eggs were baked just right. Tasty sauce and bread for dipping! My husband had eggs with red peppers. He reported it as also quite tasty. They also had some intriguing pastries that we didn’t sample, unfortunately. The atmosphere was very pleasant – busy but not packed on a Sunday morning. The staff were super friendly. My three-month-old son was also just fine there. I’d go back anytime!

Little Byrd is so «Melbourne», it barely exists. With no signage, no cards, no website and sandwiched amongst a series of nondescript stores, you could easily pass it and never know. With its quirky fitout and menu, it wouldn’t be out of place on the other side of the city. What’s truly amazing about Little Byrd however, is that their coffee is GREAT. Pop in for a delicious cup and if you’re lucky enough to make it around brunchtime, make sure you sample the fare.
