fantastic food!!! love their 2 dishes fish — sweet and sour soup and salted fish. additionally, their special pork chop rice is great. Banh xeo is not bad but could be bit more crunchy. bo nhung dam or beef dipping in vinegar dish is sensational with veggie, rice paper and sweet sauce. no doubt one of the best viet restaurant in Sydney.

The food is traditional Vietnamese cuisine and is super fresh. We are Australian and our Vietnamese friends have bought us here in the past. You know it’s good when Vietnamese families eat here! The tables have plastic table cloths and utensils in containers on them — but please don’t be put off. It isn’t meant to be a fine dining experience. It is functional, fresh, fast and fabulous!
The staff are super friendly and welcoming, they learn your name and remember you even if it’s been a while since your last visit. They will help you order if you are new to Vietnamese — just ask!

Vietnamese cuisine happens to be one of my favourite so I’ll do my absolute best not to give this place a bias review. This restaurant is awesome for a number of reasons but what’s appealed to me mostly is the fact that the dishes served are actually authentic. I’ve had their beef phở and Vietnamese pancakes which had both my tastebuds and heart dancing with delight. I also ordered the rice vermicelli with prawns, pork, lettuce and mint leaves wrapped in rice paper — this is so delicious when dipped on the peanut sauce they serve you with it. I then ordered a drink called Sam Buo Luong which had crushed ice, seaweed and barley. That was totally refreshing and not to mention, healthy!
The other things that I really liked about My Canh is that they accept payments via EFTPOS (perfect for those who want to have a fine meal despite not having much money (or none at all) in their wallets) and that they operate till 11.00pm (which is ideal for people who get hungry during the odd evening hours or those who simply cannot afford to have dinner at a reasonable time due to their schedule).

Can’t go wrong with the rice vermicelli meals! Just recently we discovered their soft shell crabs!
