My fiancée and I visited on our way through to Rockley Village. We had the venison to start, followed by the kangaroo ragu and the capretto. The venison was, surprisingly, the highlight of the meal: well balanced and just the right amount of heat. The ragu and the capretto were well executed. My only criticism is that the veg seemed a little bit of an afterthought in both dishes. If I could give 3.5 stars, I would, but since I can’t, 4 will do.

Once a great restaurant, Cobblestone Lane is now overpriced and a bit pretentious. The food is well prepared, but the combinations are on the odd side and the descriptions in the menus are full of ridiculous terms that don’t actually exist, according to an actual 5-​star chef I know.
It’s sad to see a once-​great place sink into mediocrity like this.
