Can one really be that ‘Nuts About Coffee’ that they’d name their shop ‘Nuts About Coffee’? I think one can, and not lightly either. Nuts About Coffee is a fantastic fair trade coffee shop situated at the Blackburn shops. It is a humble little store filled with amazing coffee, nuts, confectionery and fruity treats that could make your mouth water. Its ambiance, service, and prices can all be considered amazing, which makes this particular shop worthy of a 5-​star rating.
One might ask, what’s so great about Nuts About Coffee? Isn’t it just one of those shops that seem pretty ordinary? Well, no. It is definitely far from ordinary. Nuts About Coffee has got such a unique vibe for when you first enter the shop. The coffee aroma which lingers within the café, the sound of freshly ground coffee, and the white noise chatter of the locals inside all makes for one heck of an experience.
Divine service is also a paramount factor for its 5-​star rating, which so far without fail has been the case with each of my visits. Now, depending on which day you get to visit this shop will ultimately determine your first experience – mind you, however, this doesn’t suggest a good/​bad type of experience but rather an amazing either/​or situation. If you ended up visiting on a day without this particular person working – I wouldn’t name her for the sake of confidence – what you’ll find is an amazing experience. However, if you ended up visiting on a day WITH this particular person working, then what you’ll find is a very different experience. This lady has amazing memory, and she will remember the conversation you’ll have with her and who YOU are – obviously within a reasonable time frame. Now to some this may not seem important, but to me what makes for a great 5-​star café experience is the conversations you have with its staff, and them remembering you.
The treats, confectionery, nuts and all of what they offer is divine. It is safe to say that whenever I work nearby in the Blackburn area I always find myself in this store during my lunch break. They provide such a calming and relaxing environment to de-​stress and wind down after a stressful morning.
Overall, Nuts About Coffee deserves respect, and lots of it. This humble little shop located in Blackburn has got such a punch of funk, with all its foods, coffees and staff, that it truly does deserve a 5-​star rating. Plus adding in the fact that they serve fair trade goods their business makes for a great candidate for your next coffee run, as it not only satisfies your cravings for good food but also helps the people and families who help make the things we consume.
