Good burger place close to home. Bit pricey. $ 17 for the basic burger, fries and drink. It was pretty good though.

I’m a Blackwood local and this local burger store never disappoints! The original Fancy Burger store is full of friendly staff, tasty food, and happy customers. Coeliac disease? No problem. Simply ask for GF bun, mention the coeliac and they’ll minimise the cross contamination risk without looking at you strangely. The chips are so delicious with lots of salt and rosemary, chicken burgers are wonderful, as are the beef. I tried the veggie ‘Farmers Market’ the other night as well and thoroughly enjoyed the eggplant and goats cheese(how gourmet!) alongside the relish, salad, and sauce. Kids options are available too if you’re dining with children. Just a tip, if you’re going to eat at peak times(Weekend lunches, Friday night etc.) call ahead to place a take away order. As efficient as the staff are, it gets busy. Absolutely worth the trip!

My favourite burger place. Sometimes the bacon comes out a little burnt when you buy during the rush hour. That’s being fussy. Apart from that, the ingredients are fresh and flavoursome.

I used to live in Blackwood. I thought it was a great little burb in the foothills, but something was always missing. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. Anyway, we moved further into the hills to Bridgewater and about 2 months after the move a friend asked us if we had been to fancy burgers. «Fancy what?» I said. «What burgers?». «What are you talking about?» I was upset. Why did the universe create a burger joint that was the talk of the town after I had moved. It was not good. A few weeks later I tried my first Fancy Burger, and I was hooked. So much so that since then I have dedicated every drive I make past Blackwood to nagging until I get a Fancy Burger. Their holy smokes burger is my favorite, but the hot chicky, the lamb one with the tzatziki, their thick chips with the rosemary salt and their herby mayo are all killer. They also have great beers and local cider there. If anything the only criticism is that the place could be bigger and more comfy with beer on tap, but that’s just going a bit blue sky there. I love fancy burger so much I want to get a tshirt or something. George, the owner is a champ and all the staff are cool. If I was a teenager I’d want to work there and if I lived in Blackwood I’d sell my oven and plates and eat there every night

Never fails to impress. Very consistent. I usually get the mini delight and it IS absolutely delightful! Make sure you get some herby mayo with your chips — so delicious. The only thing… PLEASE get a larger location in Blackwood! It is so popular, but very small and in an awkward spot.

Almost as good as home made, soooo much better that Maccas & Hungry Jacks. I love them, they are not greasy they are yummo, all they need to do are onion rings :))))

I figured I just reviewed their new sister store in Magill but hadn’t done a review for the original so here goes — I LOVETHESEBURGERS! I get the«Biggy» almost every time I go — if I am having a burger, I am gonna do it right! The burgers are huuge! That’s why its called the ‘Biggy’ I guess. I think they are absolutely delicious. So tasty, so juicy… they kinda feel like a hearty homemade burger, so you almost feel like they aren’t that bad for you. The chips seem to have rosemary on them as well which is different to the norm but I enjoyed them. The last time we were there however, the chips weren’t as nice — I don’t think they had been cooked properly or something, they seemed a bit dense and floury — not as soft and squishy as I would prefer. Staff are always nice and service is usually pretty quick even on busy nights. Another downside was where we sat, we were right at the back, squished in a corner near the kitchen door so it wasn’t the nicest place to sit — but then again it is a burger joint and I was wearing a hoodie. Not exactly high-class anyway! ;)

Always been quite please with the food here and especially the service from who I think May be the owner/manager. Always good when you are hanging for a burger. Very similar to grilld in Melbourne. Rosemary chips and aioli etc too. Will defiantly go back.

I am loving these new ‘healthier fast food’ places. Fancy burger provides a quick meal that fill you up with quality ingredients. Although marketed as a fresh and healthier way to eat(the burger rolls are wholemeal ect.) you will often find yourself rolling out of the front door due to the fact you always find the need to have one more bite. Fancy burger does not try and overstate itself, the atmosphere is that of a fast food joint albeit a classy(er) one. The music may be too loud for some and there is no area to comfortably sit for a long meal and a conversation, but for an average of eleven dollars a burger with quality ingredients you don’t need anything more. The quick eateries and food trucks that are popping up, and are something that restaurants should be sitting up and taking notice of. *relishthegoodthymes

When your in need of a hearty meal, A meal that’s going to put that relentless hunger to bed you need a burger and maybe some fancy chips — with a range of styles, flavours and condiment options its hard to go back to conventional fast food. The«Biggy» is my burger of choice as its a perfect mix of quantity and quality the only downside is the price tag but even then its only marginally dearer that other food joints — but your paying a little extra for the TLC they put into their BLT. Get on board this lunch time treat! 4 stars

Meh, I’m not so sure about this place as the other reviewers. the sweet potato fries were awesome(!) but both my friend and I ended up with ‘the messy burger’. A moist patty is good, but I prefer my burger not to drip everywhere. through the paper. It’s only a small shop front, so I’d suggest you take away to the local park ’cause it can get kinda crowded.

Fancy Burger is run by an awesome team who prove that take-away burgers don’t have to be bad for you! With locally sourced ingredients and a strong ethos for producing awesome food, Fancy Burgers delivers on taste and value for money. Burgers range in price from $ 7.90 to $ 12.50 and you can grab your traditional burger up to something rather fancy(blue cheese sauce is amazing!). Fancy Burger also offers two burgers for the vegetarians although vegans will have to chop and change to get something for them. Fancy Burger also offers some kid meals to keep the tackers happy. Sides are pretty much restricted to hot chips although I have seen others pop up in store varying on the day. Worth a trek up to Blackwood, Fancy Burger will hopefully start a revolution for yumminess in burgers instead of fatty same-sameness in the fast food chains.

Was hungry on Saturday night and had found out about Fancy Burger through a friend a school the day before. It was a short trip up to the hill and a beautiful long car ride back(we took the scenic rout by accident) to Adelaide. The food was delicious but being a Friday night the small business was overflowing and there was about a half hour wait but like an old fish and chip shop the lovely lady out the front told us and most people went and came back, which isn’t hard to do with so many stores on this main road. I can’t get over the satay burger and the chips were so big with salt you can actually see. Recommend to anyone, but maybe phone ahead or prepare to wait in the bussier times. And the prices are cheaper then pub burgers and a lot better then fast food!

Mmmm no false advertising here, you get exactly what they say, a fancy burger. The combination of the fancy ingredients, with the fancy bun, fancy chutney and fancy fries work together in perfect harmony, and I’ve only tried the Beef and Bacon. Next it’s the fancy chicken, the fancy vego, the fancy steak, I’d love to work my way through the whole menu. If you’re worried about price you’ll still get a burger for under $ 10, and it’s SO worth it. In a nutshell — it’s a burger and it’s fancy!

It’s hard finding a good burger joint in Adelaide, compared to the ones in US. I have a soft spot for the guys who run the mobile burger Burger Theory as their burgers are incredibly good and you would know if you read their reviews here by my fellow Unilocalers. Fancy Burger comes in second place for me. Fresh patties, ingredients and almost soft buttery burger buns. The buns are baked daily on site so you know it just can’t get any better than this. My vote goes to The Biggy. Beef patty, bacon strips, cheese, egg and my favourite beetroot doused in mayo, relish and salad. Can’t get any better than this! If you fancy hot dogs, you’ll get a chuckle of their hotdog menu. Who’s up for Poodle, Wonder Dog and Lucky Dog?

Yumbo… Fancy Burger is just that, a wide selection of huge and carefully constructed delicious fancy ingredients held together by a bun and sold to you for a moderate price. A classic ‘fancy that’ with South Aussie Beef, herby mayo, salad and relish will be in your face and then stomach for a mere $ 7.90. Now that’s value! The two vego selections are to die for also and there is not a chic pea or lentil in sight, how novel! Instead the ‘Veggie patch’ combines field mushrooms and blue cheese and the ‘Farmers Market’ goes for and eggplant, goats cheese and caramelised onion arrangement. These creative combos are definately worth checking out and Fancy burger ties equal first for me with Burger Foundry for best Burger in Adelaide!

I’m all for Macca’s or Hungry Jack’s when I’m in a hurry, but sometimes I just want a decent burger. Enter Fancy Burger. Yes you will pay more than the big name fast food chains, but in return you’ll get a decent burger. The buns are wholemeal, so you can convince yourself you are being good. Team your burger with chips, you wont regret it. The chips are delicious, especially when teamed with one of their signiture mayo’s. Fancy Burger is definitely one of the better new style burger shops to open in Adelaide.
