I have eaten the vegetarian breakfast twice while here on holiday. The ingredients are fresh and simple. It is very filling and location offers a view of the ocean while discussing the days activities. They did get my order wrong once but they quickly fixed it. My daughter loves the pancakes.

Typical greasy spoon that we only ate at because my visiting father was starving and Trio Café was an hour wait. Not like god-awful, but crummy enough to absolutely not be worth the price we paid, even for Bondi. Plus, they stuck an extra cheeky 10% onto the bill because it was«Sunday» although it didn’t say that on the menu.

Not as bad as the Trip Advisor and Urban Spoon reviews suggest… Service is slow, but friendly. Chicken salad good quality and taste. Fish burger was an overpriced McFilet(but not disgusting!).

How can you go wrong with a beach view? You could screw it up with poor food or service… but you won’t find that here. Ok, so maybe the view isn’t directly onto the beach, and it’s at street level on the main stretch of shops and restaurants in Bondi, but it’s still very pleasant and you get peeks of the sand and trees from the sidewalk seating area. Food was surprisingly good. I think places like this manage to keep quality up by having relatively small menus, but if it’s working I’m not complaining. I am NOT a fish fan, I eat raw fish but not usually cooked. Living in Sydney, I try to force myself to branch out and try more seafood, but a couple of experiences with fish & chips have been really… greasy…and later I regretted them with some serious gastric discomfort. That may seem like TMI but it is all to say that I don’t take lightly a new experience with fish. And the fish & chips here were DELICIOUS. Whatever the type of fish, it was cooked to perfection, not overly fried, and the batter was more like chicken schnitzel breading and not the deep thick dough coating on some fish. The chips were also medium cut, medium greasy, and the tartar sauce was not too fishy or pickled or anything, just a nice mix of relish, lemon and mayo for the perfect compliment to the meal. Side salad was also a nice touch to soak up any excess grease. My partner seemed to enjoy his BLT as well, and the ciabatta bread it came on looked more interesting than typical white bread selections. Add in some shakes and the perfect weather to this beach scene and you’ve got a lovely meal on a lovely afternoon.
