Yummy healthy menu. They are always busy but there is always someone about to go! They make kale & quinoa taste fantastic! #healthy #mustvisit #nancysyelp

Finally made it to there last weekend, had the avocado smash and it was amazing! Great creamy cappuccino. Definitely worth the line(food is great, and the place is always full).

We had a really outstanding brunch here one morning. Most of us had a Bowl-arama — it’s eggs, avocado, quinoa toast, fermented veges and a few other bits and bobs and it was really quirky, tasty, unique. Good coffees. Saturday mornings are hectic, as you can imagine. We sat outside. It was quite cute. I found the staff to be really polite and lovely. All the food coming out looked absolutely incredible, I really want to come back and try other things, too.

Sometimes you go somewhere and it is just not meant to work out for you: you’re coldish, tired, somehow annoyed at life. But still, you try to get things going. Maybe my mood affected my judgment, but I did not enjoy my experience here. After being told on arrival that breakfast were over even though we were supposed to have a couple of minutes left — strike one, we had to wait 10 minutes and almost tackle a staff member to get our order taken — strike two. Then the food got here, very average, in small quantities, without a smile or thank you from any of the waitresses — strike three. That’s it, let’s go. The barista did give us a very warm goodbye and that pleasant chit-chat actually saved this café from a one-star review. Mailys P. disagrees with me, so I suggest you try the place and judge for yourself, maybe I was unlucky! Duck fat, in a spoon, every day, no doctor: true story!

Wow. It has been a long time since I have been wowed by a restaurant. And I had this filling yesterday walking out of Lox Stock and Barell. Firstly, the atmosphere is all I love; only a few tables, open kitchen, a gourmet grocery/deli ambiance that is just cosy and so inviting. Perfect for a rainy day. Second, the staff is so lovely. Took the time to walk us through the menu, signature dishes and highlights. Made us try the wines seeing us hesitate between a Pinot or Shiraz. Changed our plates after the 1st dish. Brought a complimentary plate of homemade sourdough with a an exquisite olive oil … I could go on and on ! Last but not least, the food did not disappoint. An interesting twist and flavour in every single dish. All well prepared. Seasoning(salt and pepper) is available in little cups on the table if you want extra. Beetroot salad with large spinach leaves and tahini dressing is yum, smoked ocean trout with maple and avocado too — and the slow cooked eggplant with quinoa, tomato, haloumi… oh dear… All three of us loved all three dishes. And it is amazing value as well… I am not a big fan of Bondi but I will definitely return to this little gem

Great little café in Bondi. Got here around 10.15am and it was already buzzing. Good thing a friend of ours arrived early to secure us a table. They have an outdoor courtyard area but didn’t really have much sunlight so we opted to sit inside. When full the inside can get squishy! Ordered the Lock & Load, Bowlarama, Smashed Avo, French toast with cinnamon and poached eggs with avocado. I tried the lock & load, the french toast and they were pretty tasty. I had the poached eggs and loved the chutney they had provided with it. We were done in about 40 minutes and there were people that were waiting outside for a table for the same amount of time. Overall, great first visit! A friend recommended the Reuben but will have to come back to try that some other time

This place is OK. Good LAWD is it overrated! $ 13 for a bagel with a bit of Smoked Salmon?! Yeesh. It was packed to the brim on a Wednesday afternoon, to which the waiter wouldn’t let us take a free table, as a young group of 20-something ladies were«putting money in the metre», so he was saving the table for them. After an OK meal, the waitress at the till wouldn’t let us split our bill or pay separately. Alrighty then. I personally don’t see what the fuss is about at this place. I’ve had a much better meal/service/experience down the road at Speedos or Skinny Dip…

Delicious once again. The eggplant dish is an essential The hangar steak pleasant, but not amazing. The duck cabbage rolls deliciously noise and succulent. Brussels were a great new approach and worked in well with everything else. It was a birthday and we were treated a little mixed desert with a candle. Nice touch from great staff.

This is a Bondi café that ticks a lot of boxes in terms of great breakfast and lunch items, so it’s bursting at the seams. No bookings, so time your visit well, and it’s best for dining with a group of 2 – 4 tops. Their bagels and sandwiches are mighty impressive, as well as a good list of salads for the carb avoiders. Having tried both the lox bagel and the pumpkin salad with poached chicken, I found both options really tasty and filling. I came here twice during a brief trip to Bondi. The first was Mother’s Day so it was chaotic. Dining solo crammed in amongst Mother’s Day lunchers, I had to wait 45mins+ for my salad and it was super uncomfortable and awkward. The second was with colleagues, a lot more pleasant! Our meals were served in good time, we all enjoyed our orders while having a healthy dose of food envy over everything we didn’t. I would definitely come back if I was a local, but I would avoid public holidays or super busy times for my own sanity — especially as a solo diner!

Food was awesome! Cute small place by the beach. Service was pretty good as well, though they forgot to add the protein on my salad, but I wasn’t charged for it, so no big deal. Portion size is very generous.

Is it me or this place totally rocks! I took hubby out on a date and yes, we love Bondi! Ok, I love Bondi! I have always wanted to try out LS&B and today’s combination of incredible weather, no kids and no classes made it perfect to head down to Bondi. Our coffee was perfect. Hubby ordered two cos one was definitely not enough. We weren’t sure how big the servings were so we ordered two salads and a bagel, thinking we can pull it off. Our salads arrived and boy, they were so generous with the servings. Hubby had the Ocean Trout Salad and I had the Pumpkin Salad with a poached egg. Deeeeelish!!! The flavours bursted in our mouths, the fresh greens mixed so well with every bite. We were so full we weren’t too sure if we could even eat our bagel! Our waitress recommended the Smoked Lox Bagel with mixed seeds. Oh Em Gee! We were full but we kept on going! Overall, we appreciated the friendly service and the mouth watering salads and bagel. When we went to pay, the waitress said she was impressed with us! She thought we weren’t able to finish our meals! We will be definitely coming back to try the other dishes :) Thank you Lox, loved your service and food :)

I had lunch with Carissa from Channel [V] last week. I was sitting at an outside table and she was inside with her boyfriend but we were practically eating together. I was trying to lip read some of their conversation through the glass, she may as well have been right next to me, whispering sweet nothings into my ear while I laughed and stroked the beard I don’t have. As it was, I enjoyed a long black that the friendly barista passed me through the window — hot and bitter and nutty, a real heart-starter — and I got a cheeky little breakfast number called the Lock’N’Load, a potato rosti-stlyle hash, smoked lox, lime & crème fraîche dill dressing, a delicious bargain at just $ 5.50. I know right. And yeah, the people watching is off the charts. You’ll need sunglasses. Trust me on this one.

Sandwich au thon incroyable! Pain très bien, cuisson du thon parfaite, avec betterave et chou râpés, et une sauce pimentée. Rarement mangé un aussi bon sandwich! Personnel sympa. 15 $ pour une quantité et une qualité top.

I have been eating lunches here recently. It is a medium sized(6 tables inside, 3 or 4 outside) licensed café right on Glenayr on North Bondi, with a fresh wholesome menu. Dinners may be different but most dishes during the day revolve around salads, sandwiches, a daily soup, smoothies, fresh bread, teas and coffees. The wine list is not extensive but well represented by small wineries and boutique labels. Friendly staff, guitarist sometimes drops in to play. Fattoush is the best I have ever had. Smoked salmon salads are also highly recommended.

All I had here was the pickled Bloody Mary, but it was so bloody good I wanted to leave a review. I am from out of town, and this Bloody Mary will haunt my dreams forever, willing me to come back to Bondi Beach for another.

If there’s one thing Bondi does well it is food bursting at the seams with health and nutrient dense benefits. Lox Stock & Barrel, as well as doing superb bagels, offer up a lunch menu of robust salads, soups and sambos that will bring out the Australian in anyone. In an already tiny space our group of 7 or 8 nestled in for a lunch feast at Lox and I don’t think any of us left hungry or wanting for more. My coffee that day was spot on, and my pumpkin with poached chicken salad was the filling lunch I needed to continue powering through our work conference that afternoon. Would I come back if I lived locally? You bet your bottom dollar — breakfast, lunch and dinner if they’d have me!

I’m American. More specifically, I’m New Yorkish. I spent the first 22 years of my life in New York eating pastrami, lox, bagels and generally being quite Jewish. I recently ate at Lox Stock & Barrel. I felt that the best review I could provide would take the form of an analogy. If I was to spend the rest of my adult life trying to master the game of cricket, I think there would be a point at which I felt pretty confident that I had reached my own personal peak of skill. Capable, but nothing compare to an Australian born and bred to play the game. And so it is with the NY deli. These folks have no doubt spent the time and effort required to reproduce a perfectly acceptable imitation of a NY deli. But when they step up to the crease, you can still see they swing the bat just a little bit funny.

How did Bondi survive without a NY deli for so long? Well thank goodness it no longer has to as Lox Stock & Barrel comes as close as I’ve seen in Sydney. Sure it’s a little cleaner(not a bad thing by any means) and the menu, while New York in spirit, definitely swings toward modern Australian(I’ve never had an avocado smash with feta, lemon and mint in New York, but I’m 100% on board for the immediate export) but I’m ready to make the big call and dub this my favourite breakfast joint in Bondi. Breakfast highlights? The smoked lox. On eggs, on challah, on its on… just so delicious. Also, the hash browns that were ever so slightly tater tot-ish were a surprise hit. Both of our breakfasts were too big to finish but we finished them anyway because it was too good to let go. We then spent the entire afternoon recovering on the couch. Unfortunately the bagels were a little too bread-y for me — they lacked that signature tough-on-the-outside, dense-and-chewy-on-the-inside bagelness that I crave — and thus the one star detraction. But what Lox Stock & Barrel lacks in bagel perfection, it makes up for in charm. I’ll definitely be back for lunch and dinner immediately if not sooner.

If you are looking for a really good, authentic New York style bagel, this is the place! I can’t even begin to tell you how happy we are to find a legit deli slash bakery. It’s a small, café style spot in Bondi, usually quite busy, pumping out really great American comfort style brunch etc. I don’t think it is owned by Americans, but clearly they were inspired. Menu: — really really good bagels with all the fixins, including lox and capers — potato latkas(«hash browns») with crème fraîche, dill and smoked lox — french toast with real maple syrup that looked amazing(I was too full from the bagel) — carrot cake that rivals some of the best I’ve had — and a bunch of other things Oh, and a shout out to my fellow Americans: They have real iced coffee(no ice cream in the coffee), real iced tea, challah bread, rye bread, and pastrami. I bought 6 bagels takeaway and popped them in my freezer to tide me over until next time. Can’t wait to go back!
