Max’s Shoes

I’m a chick, I love shoes, so sue me. I cannot walk past a Max’s Shoe Store without at least peering through the door. Max’s started as a super-​cheap outlet store in Bondi Junction. It was always packed so they shifted that shop around the corner to Oxford St mall and opened a second shop simultaneously on the Bondi Beachfront at Campbell Pde. I believe they’ve opened up another store somewhere since then but those are the two I always check out.
Me, I’m addicted to boots. In fact it wouldn’t be exaggerating to say I have a problem. Max’s is a major enabler, with on trend but unusual shoes and bucketloads of boots across the spectrum of prices… don’t get me wrong, they have some ugly shit in there too, but when you strike gold it really is gold! Prices start at the $ 20 sale rack out the front up to high-​end $ 400 Italian leather boots. It’s all here, with sizes ranging from Tiny Dancer to Drag Queen and every style of footwear from flip-​flops and Uggs to sky-​high stilettos. And Max’s is a Croc-​free zone, allelujah!
Max’s trivia: I’m not sure why but all the staff in Max’s are always Irish. They are also very obliging so if they don’t have something in your size they’ll call one of the other shops to get it in.
