Twisted Frozen Yogurt

Twisted has gotten some heavy competition in Bondi Beach with a variety of great dessert options a mere stones throw away but this place holds its own.
They offer traditional frozen yogurt with the option for various different flavoured ice cream with a variety of toppings from fruits to fruit loops. Custom made desserts so your responsible for its success or failure.
I opted to try out an Acai Bowl. The Acai Bowls are a great option for someone who wants something a little healthier then gelato or ice cream but still feel satisfied afterwards. The Acai comes either sweetened or unsweetened. The sweetened option is sweetened with sugar cane. The bowl comes with your choice of toppings like the frozen yogurt.
I opted for strawberries and Kiwi fruit and it was delicious and I was pretty full after it I got to say. Great option and with that generous portion size I would try it again.

So what is this purple icy substance in a bowl with toppings consisting of fruit, granola and nuts? The ACAI bowl. I recommend this as a different choice to their frozen yoghurt. It costs $ 10 and the serving size is quite large. You are entitled to 3 topping choices (they have a huge amount to choose from!) if you would like more than 3 toppings you can but they charge extra. I’ve had a few Acai bowls in my time but the one at twisted is one of the best in terms of the actual Acai base itself has a good consistency and taste and is made with coconut water and fresh strawberries as opposed to apple or orange juice (which changes the flavour and also increases the sugar content of it). Additionally their toppings are always fresh and have not been sitting their for days. The taste is hard to describe as it tastes like nothing similar to food I’ve had before. I guess you just have to try it! It’s icy, sweet, savory, addictive, a superfood, and full of goodness and deliciousness!

My flatmate kept telling me how amazing Twisted Frozen Yoghurt was, so when I was in Bondi over the weekend I decided to check it out.
I am a big fan of ice cream and a lot of the way Twisted is being sold is as alternative to ice cream, to be perfectly honest, I still prefer ice cream. If you want a healthier option though twisted might be a good one, although the main alternatives to ice cream they offer are not that much healthier. I think it is a little delusional to think it is a healthy choice to have chocolate flavoured frozen yoghurt on top of a pile of chocolate brownies.
On the other hand the pro biotic fruit smoothies are great and more healthy. You choose three fruits and they blend them with the yogurt and non fat milk.
The thing I always laugh at about the whole 98 percent fat free line is tell us what the sugar content is.
I enjoyed it, but I would still rather have a thick shake and then do some exercise.

This is the perfect post-​beach, on the way home, pit stop. I mean, if we’re honest we all crave an ice-​cream after the beach, a hangover from our childhood. Twisted Frozen Yoghurt offers a very healthy way to satisfy that craving — 98% fat free frozen yoghurt. There are over twenty flavours of frozen yoghurt plus an array of topping to choose from. You can go as healthy or indulgent as you like with your toppings, with everything from fruit to chocolate on offer. My pick is Acia Berry twisted with Passionfruit in regular. Allow yourself two toppings (I go fruit or crunchy muesli). The store itself is super cool (no pun intended here) — very modern, very light, very bright space which can sometimes draw you in to stick around and enjoy your ‘twisted yoghurt’ on the spot.

I much prefer the subtle sweetness of frozen yoghurt to ice cream any day, which is why I am always on the look out for the best place to get me some of that dairy goodness. Luckily for me, there happens to be a fabulous place that sells this treat only minutes from my house. And thus began my love affair with Twisted Frozen Yoghurt.
They got the name Twisted from how they serve the yoghurt. You can get two flavors at the same time and they twist and form one big drop of yumminess. You can get each flavor on your own but it’s nice to try the flavors that are paired together.
You can choose from chocolate with cookie dough, vanilla with wild berry and tart with green tea. Being a yoghurt fanatic, I always get the tart (original flavor). It’s sour and refreshing and also encourages you to enjoy your toppings more.
So the toppings, they have huge variety. You can go for a healthy option like raspberries and mango or you can choose from a variety of cheeky toppings like homemade crumble and dark chocolate flakes. I like to mix it up with chocolate and strawberry!
They have other things you can indulge in too, like smoothies and parfaits. Whatever you get from there you can be assured is fresh and good quality.
