I’m granting this review an extra star because it would be a bit harsh to give it two. However, there are aspects of my experience that I’d give a much lower rating. Zagames is ok but I’m frustrated by something every time I go. It’s usually related to the service. The ordering staff are nice enough but seem to lack a bit of common sense. I didn’t want baked eggs but wanted the avocado, chorizo and bacon with poached eggs. It’s not on the menu but poached eggs appear in various other dishes. There are no poached eggs on toast on the menu(only children’s which is 1 egg, extra egg & toast is $ 4 and any extras cost a lot to add on. Avocado is $ 5!) Asking this question led to the cashier looking at me like I’d shat in his mouth. I felt like I was really causing a problem when I didn’t think it would be such a big deal. You can poach eggs, you can cook a sausage. Right? They did it in the end but it was awkward. Another time I arrived just after 11 and was meeting my mum’s group, which is the only reason I go really. My bus ran late, otherwise I’d have been there earlier. Breakfast had stopped and I was handed the lunch menu. Asking about breakfast I was made to feel like it would be an inconvenience. In the end they did it for me but I had to argue the rationale. The food is very nice, they have some interesting choices. Their coffees aren’t great. Apparently you’re meant to order food and drinks that aren’t coffee at the bar. It’s an annoying experience overall. As I said, I generally only go because the mum’s group want to. There’s a lot of space and a play area for bigger kids. No doubt my daughter will love it. I’d much prefer to go elsewhere. There’s a soulless vibe to Zagames, no depth of character. It’s very bare but I suppose as a family restaurant they need the space for rugrats running wild. It might grow on me, hopefully their staff will get the hint. Just poach my frickin’ eggs!

I think Dustin hit the nail on the head: A great place for the family! A comfortable environment, a bustling bistro feel with efficient helpful staff. An area for kids, people singing happy birthday, what you’re expecting from the«local». However I didn’t consider the meals were at «family friendly» prices. 2 mains, one soft drink and one beer: $ 70 I thought that was a bit rich. Having said that, the lamb curry I had was slow cooked, tasty and mild. My partner had the fettuccine marinara and said it was varied in the seafood selection and had just enough chilli to give it warmth but not overpowering. There were also some nice looking wood fired pizzas coming out of their busy kitchen which looked good! Overall it was a reasonably good meal. The specials board had some nice choices and their cakes selection looked awesome! Will have to go back and sample their coffee and try the lemon meringue tart which looked very tempting.

This is a great place to take the family. Large tvs everywhere, inside playground, gambling and a bar. I had the cold and hot seafood platter $ 35 and it was very good.
