This place is really in-thai-sing(enticing :-P) and like all good Thai restaurants they have incorporated Thai into the shop name in a really punny way. I initially came here cause it was super packed and the places on either side only had a few people in them. I knew if there were that many people waiting they must be waiting for something good! In terms of vege friendly-ness this place is great, most of the mains come with vegetables, beef, chicken or prawns. For $ 1.50 more you can turn the meals into vego with tofu. I have had the red curry and green curry at this place, both with tofu added. The flavours were delicious and all the ingredients fresh(no sneaky frozen veggies here!). The curry comes hot(3 peppers) but I did not find their hot very spicy, so you probably need to specify extra hot if you like a bit of a kick. In terms of the meat dishes, the friends I dined with practically licked their bowls so I take that as a good sign. There is a cute courtyard out the back which is nice if you have a big group, and in summer the al fresco area is great for people watching those walking along Jetty Road. The staff here are all pretty friendly, not super attentive, you may have to ask a few times for more water or the like. But in the big scheme of things that isn’t a biggie. The food here really is the drawcard. It is safe to say In Thai’s Café & Noodle Bar, en-thai-erly satisfied my thai-ger sized curry craving. This place is no Thai-hard, I should probably stop thai-ping these awful puns, lol, thai and stop me!

In Thai is a super friendly locally owned restaurant. Amazing, tasty and really reasonably priced food is one of the reasons to eat in or order take away from this restaurant, but the reason to dine in is the friendly staff. Quick service, awesome location, delicious food and lovely local staff are all fantastic reasons to visit In Thai.

Over the past three years I have been a regular diner at this family run restaurant. Kevin Ponniah and his wife Tanny have been very welcoming every time I visited their restaurant — and it was too many to count! This authentic Thai restaurant has a great casual atmosphere which is enhanced by the friendly team of attentive waiting staff. The menu is well balanced and gives the customer great choices of authentic Thai dishes ranging from wok stir fries, noodle dishes and salads to traditional curries. The entrees I have tried are all exceptional — Pandan Chicken, Spring Rolls, Dim Sims, Thai Fish Cakes and Money Bags. I recommend you try the Pandan Chicken for its amazing flavour of spices. The Money Bags were also a pleasant surprise — especially as these are normally not a favourite of mine. The main dishes I have sampled were absolutely the best in Adelaide! I absolutely loved the Masaman Beef Curry and wish I could find one as good as this in Sydney. I highly recommend that you try this on your next visit. Other dishes to definitely try are the Thai Basil Chicken(Hot), Thai Garlic Prawns and Pud Thai Tu Noodles. In Thais’ signature dish is the Moreton Bay Bugs — tails tossed with fresh vegetables in their own special Thai chilli sauce. The sumptuous and delicately flavoured Moreton Bay Bug tails were cooked perfectly and presented in ready to eat bite sized portions. No need for you to get your fingers dirty here. The flesh falls away from the shell easily and is sautéed with all the exotic flavours of the special chilli sauce. This is mixed with various vegetables. My favourite cold main is the Thai Spinach salad — perfect for those hot Adelaide Summer nights. Desserts — I always craved the Banana Fritters with the delicious caramel sauce. Sometimes this was not always available to my disappointment, but if you are able to sample it, do try it for yourself!, the sauce melts Otherwise I always opted for a Caramel Pecan muffin. When lightly heated the sauce oozes nicely over the cake. Yummy! The restaurant also opens for breakfast from 8:30am to11:30am with many breakfast options. I tried the Thai Omelette, which was a great breakfast choice. Newly added choices that I want to try are Smoked Norwegian Salmon, French Brioche Toast or the Pan Fried Duck Eggs. I really miss not being able to pop down to In Thais since moving to Sydney, but I can’t wait to come back to your wonderful restaurant when next I am in Adelaide.

Came for dinner on a unfortunately busy night. Sitting outside, my friend and I had a nice 20 minute conversation before anyone decided to come take our order. The duck and tamarind on special turned out to be battered, deep fried and tangy. The red curry was good, but more like OK good. The appetizer(also on special) was a star-shaped dumpling with very tough seafood inside and the same red curry sauce(as in, not quite original sauce). The wine was good, but this place doesn’t make their wine. Come again? Methinks not…

Great breakfast food ! Best on Jetty Rd currently. Dinner also always good Thai style food. Now if they could just make a decent long black this would be great…

OK. I have decided I will not write a review until I have hit the same restaurant twice. That way I figure it s a fair review. I figure anyone can have a bad night, but two? I like In Thai. It is cosy(on the inside) and the staff are quick and nice to boot. The entrees as fa as I have tasted are all very nice. I love prawns in a blanket(a special dish so may not be on the main menu) and their dim sims are HUGE compared to other places I have been. Sauces that go with these are particularly nice as well. They have a small kids menu, consisting of hokkien noodles and special fried rice, but that seems to cover most kids tastes from what I can tell. The let down I think on two occasions have been the mains. I tried fried rice with Pork Belly the first time and the Seafood Laksa the second time. They were not bad, but I have tasted better. In fact the Laksa seemed to have a very«buttery» taste which was something as I kept eating that really turned me off. The fried rice with pork belly — the pork belly was delicious but the fried rice seemed a little overdone. My partner had Pad Thai and Green Curry and the Green Curry was quite the dish. I had a taste and certainly enjoyed all the flavour in it. The Pad was not as good — I couldn’t put my finger on why though. One thing that looks extremely nice and would have to consider at least trying(which means going back a third time, in itself is a little bit of a recommendation) is the Pork Belly mains. I will have to wait and see on that one though. All in all nothing truly terrible, but some things that are mediocre. If you love entrees then perhaps go in and bust a gut on that, as to my taste anyway, the mains are a bit hit and miss. Oh, Thursdays seem quiet but perhaps check on a Friday night and perhaps make a booking. We squeezed in my the skin of our teeth.

I have been here twice, and am very impressed with In Thais! We came here for dinner on a Tuesday night — in winter, not every restaurant on Jetty Road is open, so we kind of came here accidentally! But we’re so glad we did! Staff are all very friendly(even though most are pretty young), and service is quick. Food is very fresh and tasty, with generous portions. The first time, I ordered beef satay for entrée(3 skewers, which were huge!), and the milder version of Pad Thai for main. Absolutely delicious! The other night I tried the Thai Fish Cakes for entrée(4 large ones!), and the beef Kway Teow for main. The latter was one of the best I’ve tasted, with lovely char-flavoured noodles and perfectly cooked meat and vegies. The wine list is great too. Strangely, they have the most amazing selection of cupcakes at the counter too … though we’ve been too full to try them there, both times we have taken them away with us — served in a gorgeous little noodle box ;) I’m not sure where they’re from, but they are incredible(though not very Asian: P). So, from being an accidental choice, In Thais has now become a deliberate destination!

Went here on a Tuesday Night. Surprisingly it was really busy, I wasn’t expecting to be so busy on a tuesday night. The staff were really friendly and greeted us straight away. The choice on the menu was really good. Large range of different types of food. Prices ranged from cheap to moderate. I ordered the Green Curry, which was very tasty! Looking forward to coming back to here.

Sit inside, or outside, the smell of Asian barbeque tempts the senses to this café. The staff are very friendly, and food is served fairly quickly. Good for a casual and inexpensive lunch with friends, then head down to the beach just 500m down the road. Servings are also rather generous, so it’s good for sharing, or if you’re feeling really hungry yourself. Taste-wise, I’ve found the chicken and the seafood can sometimes be bland, as if they’ve been cooked separately, and added after most of the cooking was done so it was unable to absorb the smells and tastes of the sauce, curry, etc. Not the best place if you’re after a more authentic Asian taste and experience. But you won’t regret the pandan chicken — very juicy and flavoursome. Those who have not had pandan chicken before, DON’T eat the leaf!
