Very good Indian fast food. We came upon this shop on a Saturday night and it seemed that of all the shops that were still open, this was the one that was the MOST popular. I ordered the Patak Curry with rice for $ 10 which was really very good. Excellent flavor. My son(17) ordered the lemon grass chicken curry and he surprised me by not only ordering something I’ve never seen him eat(he’s from Utah, USA), hell, he loved it, too!!! As a side, we had the fish and chips. I know right? Odd offering from an Indian joint, but it was fantastic. Prices were right on par with everything else we’ve been trying. Granted, we aren’t very high maintenance eaters, so it was all around the $ 10/dish range, and with the currency conversion it worked out to about $ 8US. They take credit cards, too. The service was great. They were pleasant and patient with our indecision about what we wanted. This being our last night in Brisbane we likely won’t be seeing Masala Art again, but I’m damned happy we got to enjoy it once.

This is another restaurant on my quest to find Brisbane’s best butter chicken. I took a train into the city and vowed to visit the first reasonably priced Indian Takeaway I found. I stepped into the street from the station and saw Masala Art, a small shop on adelaide street. I ordered a small butter chicken for $ 6. The dish i received was reasonably sized for a small, but it was mostly filled with rice. I got about three pieces of chicken, but this was acceptable in a small size. The sauce was moreish, but not the best i’ve ever had. I would return as the service was amazingly fast and polite, and the prices were amazing.(I saw a deal for a curry, rice and a naan for $ 9.) All in all a very nice butter chicken.

Really love this place, I work in the city and we have a serious lack of good quick Indian food near the office. It’s always fresh, fast and well priced. They are lovely staff, the chef guy sometimes looks a little tired but I know id look the same if I had his workload! Because Brisbane people love this place !!! Everyone in the office I work at raves about. How good they are!

Don’t be fooled by the location and takeaway connected to this Indian restaurant. The service is ok… but the food is awesome! Very authentic, well priced, delicious Indian food! Highly recommend this one! I went there on a Scoopon deal and I will be back! This is somewhere I could take my Indian mate and know he will love the food!

Good authentic take away. Highly recommend this place when you’re on the go. Service is mediocre. Overall good value for money.

They had a good deal on Groupon where you could get 2 curries for the price of one. So naturally, I bought 5 of them, and I’m glad I did! Conveniently situated in the heart of the CBD, Masala Art proved to be a vital part of many evening meals. The lamb vindaloo and rogan josh were very flavorful and had just the right amount of heat. Also, the meat was very tender and absorbed the curry sauce quite nicely. I also liked the butter chicken because the moist consistency of the meat paired very well with the sweet tangy butter sauce. Service was typically very good and they accepted my Groupons without any issues. The curries are laid out cafeteria-style so the process for take-away is quite quick and efficient. The main reason I’m not giving this place 5-stars is that without the Groupon discount, the curries are a little bit on the expensive side. The volume of food is a bit on the lean side as well — I would tend to eat about 1.5 containers just to get full. However, despite all this, I would still recommend Masala Art for a quick simple dinner and if you’re craving a cheeky bit of Indian food.
