Oh Myer for many years in the Queen Street Mall ypu were THE department store to go to. Then David Jones reopened in the fancy Queens Plaza and your shine and glitter faded next to the newer, funkier and lets face it better looking girl in town. You still try but your aisle once neat and tidy are cluttered and badly organised. Your high end overseas brands pushed to the back of the shelves for 25 of the same guess bag and wallet combo. You still have some FANTASTIC bargins and awesome sales however you need to rethink your floor plans.

Where else would you go to save your feet a world of pain! Given it’s pulled together all different labels into one department store, it’s a great place to shop. One thing I don’t like about this particular store is that parking can be hard to find, and the lifts are extremely slow. Of course if you really can’t be bothered wading through the crowds, then you can always shop online!

I remember when Myer was the good but affordable department store. I feel like every time I go there the prices are higher and higher. We went shopping here recently to buy Christmas decorations. It was unfortunately one day after the big sales, but there were still good buys to be had. We had a specific tree size in mind, but there weren’t any on display for us to look at. And try as we might, it was near impossible to get the attention of one of the few staff members. I feel every time I come here it’s a chore to give someone my money. Eventually we found someone who was nice enough to help us with the tree and find us a basket to carry all our stuff in. We came on a weekday, but parking in the Myer Centre is cheaper($ 15 for 1hr+ I believe) if you get in after 4:30pm. So that was fine, to be able to park in the city anyway. When we payed the guy behind the counter was nice enough to point out we had missed the big sales. Thanks, bro. Otherwise he was nice and made an appropriate amount of conversation. All in all this Myer is fine. It should have everything you need. Just be prepared to feel like you need to thank staff for the opportunity to be served by them.
