im from canada and i know what good phở tastes like. im sad and happy at the same time to say that the best phở ive had in brisbane is located in a food court at this place called roll’d. its so authentic! almost tastes like home! ive been here for 2.5 years so ive tried many many places as i love phở and vietnamese food in general and trust me when i say you wont find better tasting phở than here. i usually get the cup phở(mixed) with fresh chillis, and either a banh mi(sandwhich) or their soldiers(fresh rollls). i think its cool their nuoc mam(fish sauce) comes in packets lol, never seen that before so i snapchatted it and alot of my friends back home thought that was funny too. the spider roll is good, the grilled chicken is amazing and if you are a vegetarian they have vegetarian options too! like salads, phở, banh mis and rolls ! the prices are pretty standard as most asian phở places despite being in a food court. definitely will continue eating here when i do crave for vietnamese food. the iced tea is also good. never tried their iced coffee but alot of people seem to like it. the B is also yummy too. the only thing i have not tried is their salads(goi) and the banh xeo(pancake) which hopefully next time i will!

Like Rachel I had the same problem. I chose 3 different soldiers. The ends were dried out which made the rice paper unchewable. I also had woody stems in mine. Not much flavour in the pork and prawn. The roast chicken was good. The barramundi was bland, and suffered the fate of battered objects that get rolled into damp fillers. The fish was actually a bit fishy the way bonito flakes taste. You are never going to get the quality of a fresh rolled thing with these lunch time shops and rice paper rolls have the added issue that sushi doesn’t have, in that if it’s too wet the paper will fall apart. However, it may be a question of business decision; do we put something out to generate interest or do we stick to something that can maintain a level of quality over many hours?

Popped in to grab some Vietnamese rice paper rolls for lunch as the new location for Roll’d is closer to my place of work. Sadly, I won’t be coming back in a hurry. The rolls were super average and contained more coriander stems than actual herb leaves. The fit out and mod cons can’t beat the service and quality of product I experience on a regular basis Little Saigon Grill — it’s worth the extra walk for me! If you haven’t been, you should go find out for yourself: 123 Albert St, Brisbane You’re welcome!

Great food and good service! I had the ‘house special’ being a phở soup and rolld soldiers. Played it safe and had chicken all around and wasnt disappointed at all. Lovely flavours, fresh produce used in everything! I will definately come back and be a little more adventurous

Upon receipt of a ‘grand opening free lunch’ flier, some friends and I were more than eager to scope this new Vietnamese venue out. With its location right smack in the middle of the Eagle street business district, we weren’t exactly surprised when we saw the cue out the door and halfway up the block. Despite the long line, the wait was really quite short and pretty soon we all found ourselves inside. The register staff were all super friendly, the menu was easy to decipher and the interior was spacious and well planned. We all ordered the rice noodle bowl with lemongrass beef as an introductory meal, and snagged a spot at one of their sidewalk tables. The meal was satisfactory, with a nice amount of noodles dressed in Vietnamese sauce, an assortment of lightly picked veg and greenery, and protein(which was a bit overcooked but still flavourful). We perused the menu while we ate, all agreeing that the other dishes seemed interesting and very well priced. I definitely look forward to trying out some of their other selections, and in general am happy that Roll’d has been added as another option to the lunchtime run.
