The «Elephant» will be visiting Brisbane’s most happening urban areas, parks, markets, construction sites and office buildings, with a carefully selected range of gourmet Asian street food, all priced under $ 10.
Wandering Elephant will operate five days a week, serving lunch and dinner with possible late night operation on weekends for Fortitude Valley revellers seeking a midnight feed.
Ben Carter and his business partner Anthony Bartzis studied architecture together at QUT and share similar backgrounds working in their family-owned restaurants and more recently collaborating together in Carter’s catering and cooking class venture.
The pair brings a youthful edge to the Brisbane food scene and offers a new take on the typical mobile food vendor.
The «cheap and cheerful» menu includes Vegetarian Spring Rolls, Indonesian Satay Chicken, Malaysian Ayam Goreng (deep fried curried chicken), Malaysian Beef Rendang (beef curry) and Thai Yum Nua (beef salad) as well as monthly specials.
