After spending some time sitting down on the beach watching the waves roll in I decided that I might look for a place to sit down and have a beer. Well, there were two options — the Broadbeach Tavern and this place, and you can probably guess what I chose(okay, I went to the Broadbeach Tavern as well, but this place is a lot more classier). It is more of a café-bar than just a simple bar, but it is still a pretty decent place to sit and have a drink, if that is all you are looking at doing. They have an outdoor area that faces the park, though I will point out that it is non-smoking(in fact smokers in Queensland are going to have a lot of difficulty finding a place to have a beer and a cigarrette). It isn’t the cheapest place around, but the atmosphere was still pretty nice.

Whilst the food was quite nice, this is not the only thing that goes into a nice night out. When you consider that we waited for over 15 minutes(with a reservation) just to be talked to before being seated it doesn’t start well. The managers refusal to allow us to choose from the menu, instead requiring we use a preset course can be quite expensive for some. On the bright side, the wait staff were very friendly. We sometimes felt like we were waiting an eternity for drinks and at the end of the night had our pockets well and truly shaken clean.

Nice friendly service. The staff are nice to have a chat with ! Food came out in good time. The pork belly entrée is perfection definitely reccomend it. We were in Broadbeach for the blues festival and Alto is in the center of the action. We could hear the music playing as we ate lunch :) Try«the alto» pizza its sooo good.

Ducked in here with my playing partners after a round of golf at Robina. We were after a quick bite to eat as it was well after 2pm by the time we arrived. The lunch specials were still available for between $ 16 and $ 20, in our part sampled the pulled pork sliders, barra, chips & salad, pizza and a lamb wrap. There were no complaints about the food and it all arrived in good time. The fit out is nice and relaxed, offers good people watching — which is a must on the glitter strip, and there was live music as well. 5 lunches, a bottle of wine, 2 soft drinks and 5 coffees set us back $ 172. All in all it was a reasonably happy experience.
