These guys know how make some good coffee. I long for this brew and am very fortunate to have this place in my backyard. The brothers are great, friendly and welcoming, and deserve kudos in turning a garage into a warm talking spot with Melbourne culture and atmosphere.

The coffee is nice enough and the staff are super friendly, but the 2 breakfast dishes we had were far from what we had hoped. The baked eggs were burnt on top, yet had raw egg whites below the surface. The quesadilla was completely bland and I’ve had better dishes from a 7⁄11 fridge. I love supporting Brunswick cafés, but with many other excellent ones nearby they will have to lift their game.

This is one of my favourite cafes in Brunswick! Astro-turf, park benches, lamps, nooks and blankies, it’s the kind of place that’s very easy to dig yourself in for a few hours! And seeing as they have free wifi, it’s very easy to do! I’d definitely set aside a bit more time if coming here than others, as food and coffee can take a while to come out. But it IS worth the wait, and what a place to wait in! The feel is very eclectic and a bit Berlin. A converted warehouse with a rope woven wall separating spaces and super comfy lounges, there’s a good amount of power points to plug in! It’s also kid-friendly, with plenty of space to wheel in a pram and chalk boards for the little ones(or grown ups) to play with. There’s also a book exchange if you forget to bring a book or want to swap one you’ve finished. The cute little details here I’m still discovering with every visit! They also have coffee loyalty cards, with 6 coffees earning you a freebie! The food is amazing — the avocado with quinoa, hazelnuts and pickled celery on sourdough is my favourite. And the Nutella Portuguese tarts. And the juices. And the — actually, it’s too hard to pick a favourite — this place is incredible! And just try and find lovelier staff anyplace! We’re very lucky to have this on our doorstep, Brunswickians! Oh and I had to mention the price — I’m always surprised when I go pay at how cheap it is! So many wins! :)

The food and drinks came out nice and quick. My only issue with our breakfast was that my baked eggs were not fully cooked. I don’t like it when the whites of the eggs are not cooked. Other than that the flavour was good.

Such good food! Everything is a little bit spicy but in a nice way. The quesadilla is especially delicious. I came one day 15 mins before closing and asked if there was anything vegetarian they would be willing to make. I was offered a toasted corn and cheese sandwich with the warning that I may become addicted. It was pretty damn good. Lovely open space, always somewhere to sit. I only wish it was open later.

Acoustico is a lovely little café that serves great food, good coffee(so I’ve been told) and tea. The service is extremely friendly and welcoming.

Located on the Upfield Bike Path, Acustico is a new café bringing great coffee and a refreshing vibe to Brunswick. Run by Diego with assistance from his sister, Acustico delivers eco-friendly comfort in a shoebox venue. When I say shoebox, I mean it — the venue is tiny. It utilises recycled wooden railway sleepers to create a light, open, and inviting atmosphere. Acustico not only uses recycled décor, but also organic, sustainable coffee from Espresso Syndicate, a Richmond based company that sources from Rainforest Alliance and Fair Trade Certified farming communities. And what does the coffee taste like? Delicious. For food, Acustico has El Salvadorian savouries and sweets including mozzarella and spinach pupusas(a filled handmade corn tortilla similar to Colombian arepas), dulce de leche(caramel, milk based sauce), and alfajores(a cookie sandwich filled with dulce de leche). If you’re on the Upfield Bike Path, definitely stop by for a great coffee, El Salvadorian treat, and friendly chat with Diego.
