Yumba Juice Bars

There’s something refreshing (pardon the pun…) about discovering a smoothie store that isn’t a mega corporate franchise a la Boost and co. Gone are the annoyingly perky teen staff in slogan T-​shirts and the excessive branding. Instead Yumba is a far more laid back affair. Sure the smoothies are still far too expensive, but extortionate pricing seems to be the done thing in this field. What really matters is that the drinks are good, and at Yumba they do the job.

I’m not too sure what Yumba is trying to achieve but the offering of healthy smoothies and what not is all famed out but the likes of big retail chains like boost juice.
It was a particularly humid day in Melbourne and strolling past Yumba on my way into the city i thought what a refreshing beverage could do for the walk ahead (wait, why was i walking again?).
The venue wasn’t busy, wasn’t busy at all. Actually when i walked in no one was even in the front counter behind the sorbet’s. After a few seconds of waiting a young girl poked her head around the corner and i ordered my fruity-​sorbetish beverage. It was delicious, somewhat more that Boost so have to give them a big thumbs up for that one.
