I can’t fault their cake products, they are beautifully presented and great tasting, but I can their service! Alfresco seem to have problems answering their telephone. I have called on occasions and their telephone has just rang out. I’ve continued to call and finally my calls have been answered and… I’ve been told that they were busy. Another time I called, it was answered and then I was left waiting on hold(phone on the desk, I could hear staff walk past/talk to each other whilst I waited) for over 10 minutes, after 15 I decided I would hang up after all they had clearly forgotten about me. I understand that a business can be busy however every call that goes unanswered or left on «hold» could be a customer that goes somewhere else… and remembers the business not because of it’s beautifully crafted cakes but simply for it’s poor service. I believe this is something management should address and find a solution(maybe get an answering machine and then have a staff member check it at certain times of the day and then follow up the enquiries/orders) …or maybe because it happens so often maybe they simply don’t care! I was one of those telephone customers with an order and gave up, I got sick of wasting my time and took my business somewhere else with the same quality of product and service that leaves Alfresco in the dust!

OMG, death by chocolate… and cream… and pastry… and all the other delicacies in here… this is one of those ‘guilty pleasure’ stores that you end up completely stuck for choice in. We first found the store when we looked for a special birthday cake for my eldest daughter, and they came through with a cream and chocolate extravaganza that wow’d both the kids and the parents at the party. You’ll find dozens of treats in here — my favourite, by far, is their Rum Baba, luscious sponge and cream drenched in a rum syrup — fruit tarts and strawberry tarts are smothered in fruit and truly gorgeous, too. While you’re there, grab some Sfogliatelle too — they claim to make some of the best Sfogliatelle in Adelaide, and I think that’s pretty much warranted. There’s lots of parking nearby in the centre carpark, making it a pleasure to shop here.
