Randomly popped into The Good Guys while the boys were shopping at Anaconda next door. I had no intentions of buying anything but walked out as a proud owner of a Nespresso pixie coffee machine and milk frother. I was greeted by a great staff member in the Nespresso area who explained each model in great detail as well as their current cash back offer. She also indicated the best priced models and value for money. I really appreciated her help especially as it was nearing the end of the day and she was getting ready to go home. Also had great service by the other Good Guys employees who completed my transaction! In love with my new coffee machine & super happy with the price paid, thanks Good Guys !!

Jeepers creepers. This chain may feature on a national television show with great customer service. Where ever those stores are I would like to know. My mother was looking for a particular appliance and price point was of importance. If it was not for this I would have suggested going elsewhere. Several hundred dollars were needed for the appliance. The customer service person was woeful. He gave no information on the product and could not answer questions. I had to look up a schematic on my phone in store to check that installation was not going to be an issue in my mother’s home. The customer service person said a sentence and disappeared behind a computer. Several times. It was nigh impossible to have a conversation. Management was not around for any sort of complaint to be lodged. Then upon observing other staff on the day serving others, it certainly wasn’t as advertised. Staff reading off boxes to customers looking incredulous was a common theme. We went round the back to collect the item. Sitting in the car park assigned for customers are two staff members on break smoking. One of them begrudgingly got up to help with service. Price point is good. Item is covered by warranty and consumer law. Anything above this at this store is wanting.

I was on the hunt for a vacuum cleaner. With an hour & a bit to kill, I made a plan to stop by Harvey Norman before going to The Good Guys, & am sure glad I did. Although the attention that I got from The Good Guys was better(maybe because it was almost closing time & the floor was empty & so there wasn’t anyone else to serve), the range that I was looking at(particularly the Dysons) was smaller, and the product knowledge was also not as good compared to Harvey Norman. The salesperson at The Good Guys was definitely earnest though, & said that her boss was crazy(in a good way) because she’d spend hours trawling the internet to make sure that their prices were the lowest. For the unit that I was interested in, it cost just less than 80% of the recommended retail price!(Although I have to give credit to the salesperson at Harvey Norman for making me realise which model I really needed…) So if you want the best of both worlds, do some research on the Internet, get some knowledgeable feedback from a store with well trained staff, & then go get a better deal at The Good Guys. ;)
