Rathdowne Street feels inviting and safe with its trees and school crossing and busy cares and shops. The Rathdowne Street Food Store(RSFS) is place towards the city end of the strip, so feels a little tacked on or like it’s sneaking into first ahead of the bigger establishments, depending on how you’re traveling. The space is deceptively small, and on warmer and dryer afternoons one would be tempted to sit out in the sunshine on the street side seating. But inside with its deep seating area and mirror along one side opens up beautifully and feels bigger and busier than it may in fact be. The coffee is great and quick, the meals looked like winners, but I notice several eaters unhappy with the wait time for meals. a quick takeaway would be your best bet.
