I had to make a trip to the optometrist and update my prescription because one day my glasses snapped in half right in the middle and no amount of tape could fix it. CONS: ~ This is a teaching optometry clinic. Your doctor will most likely be an optometry student. ~ …As a result, the process will take very very long. I’ve needed glasses since I was a little girl so I’m well familiar with eye exams and how quick they should take. A typical 15 – 20 minute eye exam ended up consuming about an hour and a half of my time because instead of just updating my prescription, they wanted my doctor to get more experience so they gave me the full shabang — dilating my eyes, dyeing it to see the veins, etc. I pretty much turned into a human lab experiment. Normally I wouldn’t mind that much because I’d be happy helping someone else learn but they could’ve let me known beforehand. I ended up needing to miss a class for this examination… PROS: ~ Excellent customer service. Since it takes approximately a week for the new glasses to arrive, they tried to help me repair it using tape and melting the metal, etc. It didn’t work out in the end, but I’m glad they took the time to try for me. ~ The examination was absolutely free(the eyeglasses weren’t though, unfortunately). ~ Because I had school, they even decided to put it on rush delivery at no charge to me. I’d make a stop here again next time I need to get my eyes checked. Even though the process is grueling and long, I’m willing to go through with it to help someone learn. The employees are really sweet and offer some of the best customer service out there. I’d just have to make sure that I have time to spare.
