As much as I adore exploring new places, there’s something sweet about returning somewhere familiar. A perfect example of this is when I popped into Café Indimand the other day. Now it had been awhile between visits(I’m going to guess, perhaps a year to 18 months) but the staff not only greeted me with a smile but also remembered my favourite focaccia order! Seriously, order the Greek focaccia($ 7.50 and it’s filled with all my favourite things –olives, feta, sun-dried tomatoes, etc). It’s the best thing on the menu by far. Café Indimand isn’t a super trendy hipster city café, it’s somewhere comfortable and casual for locals. Think sandwiches, focaccias, wraps and other typical lunch meals, so nothing too out of the ordinary. The frames on the walls are all mismatched, the majority of the staff are family(I believe) and all this adds to the local character of the café. Unless you’re unlucky and arrive right on the lunchtime rush, you should be able to get a table easily without waiting. Many years ago, these guys gave my friends and I all our coffees for free on my birthday. They’re lovely guys who treat their regular customers well. I really should make more of an effort to not leave it as long in between visits!
