Good place for brunch or breaky. This place doesn’t set the world on fire, but it’s reliable and decent. The menu is big and very good value for money. The coffee is pretty good. Good food without being great. Quick service. This isn’t the place you come for a 2hr meal and expect a la’ carte dinning. But it’s cheap and good. Great for family’s.

This is the first time I’ve eaten at Scuzi café but Ive been for coffee a few times. The coffee is good, and their selection is a good variety… They obviously know their coffee. It’s not just a latte and a cappuccino on the menu. Today we went for brunch. It was quite busy as its a Saturday morning so there are quite a few people doing the same sort of thing. We walked in and were advised to find seating for ourselves which is fine… Unfortunately all the outdoor seating was taken which meant we had to sit inside. Right under a speaker unfortunately. This made chatting a little difficult due to the noise. The wait staff were rushing around the place, literally running from one end of the café to the other. This was really quite strange and unsettling as a patron. I felt like I was being rushed as a result. One of the waitresses heard us talking about why they were running and proceeded to say that she’d prefer if they didn’t have to buy they do.(It didn’t make much sense to us but we dealt with it). One of the people in our party asked another waiter why he was literally running and he quite smartly(in a smarty pants way) said because it’s busy and walked away.(A little rude). The food: was fine. Nothing special, reasonably priced in my opinion. We had X2 vegetarian breakfasts and X1 French toast. Definitely not the best French toast I’ve seen or tried.(Uncooked banana on top of it). They also got our coffee order slightly wrong(one too many coffees) the waitress was kind enough to give us the extra one free of charge though — this is actually why I’ve given them 3 stars not 2. Would I go here again? Probably just for coffee. And when they’re not so rushed.

Please hire more staff for the breakfast service — watching these servers run is making me stressed and an accident waiting to happen. Plus when I spoke to the cashier about it he didn’t think it was a problem which is even more concerning. Running — literally — running — with coffee, empty plates and sharp knives with kids around is just stupid.

I went to Scuzi the other day for lunch in a group of 4. It was around 1.30pm, the café was still busy but we were seated quickly outdoors. Upon sitting we were given chilled water and instantly asked what we would like to order. As we had only just sat down and had 1 menu between 4 of us we asked for a few minutes. This obviously wasn’t what the waiter wanted to hear as he responded with a large sigh. The menu is a descent size and gluten free options are available. We ordered 2 chicken open grills, barramundi and chips, souvlaki and a few drinks. During ordering the waiter accidently moved a chair, leaned on it, but unfortunately he had placed it on top of my dads foot. Dad grimaced and the waiter instantly realised his error, he did apologise but then looked at Dad and said«your response was a little dramatic don’t you think». I believe that remark was uncalled for. I’m afraid at that point I just wanted to leave, but we were all hungry so stayed. The drinks were brought to the table quickly and the food was ready not long after that. The food is nice but not out of this world amazing. It’s a bit like a home cooked meal really. The portions are very generous and pricing is reasonable. The atmosphere is ok in the café and it is always very busy. The waiters however always seem to be over worked as they are quite literally running. This does not equal a relaxing lunch. Also the waiters can get a little distracted and during our meal, one was standing beside the table shouting at what appeared to be a friend in a neighbouring café, in an attempt to catch up on their holiday. This café has disappointed me and I would only go back at a last resort if all other cafes in Chermside were full or closed.

Good looking, airy place with friendly staff. When we got there the place was quite full, so we were guided to some couches before being upgraded to a table. Coffee and food came out reasonably quick. The poached eggs were great but we didn’t like the ciabatta much(probably subjective /personal; prefer sourdough or multigrain). Overall the food and coffee was ok. The salad got a very good review. Things we didn’t like in this place were the loud music, the shouting behind the counter(may have something to do with the music) and the fact that the staff were working so hard they were actually running(!) through the place, along tables and past customers. Way too distracting /un-relaxed for me.

Amazing staff who are fast and efficient. They remember orders and are very fast to serve. When needed the owner is always keen to jump in and assist his staff which is great to see rather than barking orders Coffee always tastes great and I’ll continue to return

I am updating this review as Scuzi has become my «go to» place locally. You can’t beat this place in the Chermside area for good value, fresh food and friendly service. While other establishment’s prices have gone through the roof, Scuzi has maintained an affordable menu. I dine here regularly for breakfast, brunch and lunch, mostly due to it’s convenience and position in Chermside Shopping Centre. The staff are über friendly and efficient, many have been there since I can remember, so with a low turnover of staff, this is an indication that they love what they are doing and who they work for. The food is always fresh, well cooked and presented. You have an option of dining inside or out and is sutiable for a larger group. I love the scale of the venue, large open space with high ceilings and décor that remains relevant even though it hasn’t changed since it opened about eight years ago. Over the last 6 months Scuzi has frown in popularity and on weekends you sometimes have to queue for a table but not for long, and it’s worth the wait.

Scuzi is one of the only cafés in Chermside that opens before the centre proper. Food is passable, but you certainly wouldn’t go out of your way to get to it. The coffee isn’t terrible, and since the Cibo closure, it’s one of the only drinkable options at the Northern End of the centre. It’s a very open space, and there’s ample seating. The place is rarely busy and the service is fast, but when your French Toast is served with plastic cups of maple syrup, you wonder what when wrong.

This place seems to be getting a bad rap, but I’m glad I didn’t check Unilocal before ordering. It was a quiet weekday when I went in around lunchtime, there were plenty of seats available. A man who I can only assume was the manager or owner quickly greeted me and suggested a seat that was both outside and still within reach of the aircon. It was very comfortable on a hot day. A girl took my order almost instantly, and it was not long before my milkshake arrived. I have to say, the milkshake was perfect. It’s rare to find it made so well! I also ordered the chicken parma, and it came out with a side salad and chips. Salad was the usual inedible pile of lettuce with a few decorations on top, the chips were frozen chips, but still tasty, and I initially thought the parma was a bit on the smallish side, but I left content. I felt as a whole it was a bit overpriced, but not a bad experience overall.

Starving, we went to this place as it served breakfast options after 11:00, but it turned out to be a huge mistake. The coffee was ok — not great and my milk was a little burned, leaving the unpleasant overly sweet aftertaste. I ordered the canadian breakfast(swapping out the eggs for mushrooms) and my partner ordered the big breakfast. Both arrived at our table cold, after a considerable wait. I have no idea what they did to the mushrooms but they tasted awful. Almost bitter and were a depressing dank grey colour. The only saving grace(the one that gave this place its one star) was that they served real maple syrup unlike some places that only give you the ‘imitation’ syrup. When asked about it — I decided to give my waiter(who I suspect was the manager/owner) some honest feedback. He turned it around and basically said the fact I had a horrible meal was my own fault and I should have raised it when the food came to the table. I mentioned I was too hungry and ate what I could. I was only raising this not for a free meal or discount, but to improve on service for the next poor customer that picks this venue. Avoid at all costs is my recommendation. There has got to be better options for a late brunch at Chermside Wesfield.

Mate, what a difference a change in management can do. At the start of 2011, Scuzi I’ll have to admit was garbage. The staff were rude, the food was underperforming and the prices far outweighed the value of the experience. One year later a friend told me to go back because the place had done a complete 180. I went with my wife and we ordered a boconcino pizza a garlic bread and a chicken wrap. With drinks the cost came to about $ 30. The staff were fabulous and friendly, from the counter to the floor there was always a friendly face. When the food came out it looked, smelled and tasted like there was some love and effort put in. In the end we finished everything we were given and in no way was the soured by any of the experiences from a year ago. Go there its great.
