Food is delicious but the prices… oh my god the prices. The only reason I don’t return is because of how expensive they are. Which is sad, because their food was delicious. Home made focacias, vegetarian options and right near the rotary Park for the kids.

The food was okay for the most part, but the chips were really good. A bit pricey though.

Second stop of the day and, given that the website says opens at 8 a.m., my guests and I were surprised to find it closed at 8:45 a.m. A single staff member rolled in just before 9 and busily set about firing the place up. We sat down outside on those very uncomfortable metal outdoor chairs and were uninspired by the brief and over expensive breakfast menu. The interior area could use a bit of a spruce up and clean and some kind of inspiration to create an atmosphere. The place looks out onto O’Sullivan’s Beach with just a well kept public garden space /play area in between. It really could be a great location and maybe this place gets better when it is up and going, maybe the food is outstanding. I wasn’t prepared to stick around to find out though.

I always get really confused when I hear about Blu C Café. See, Blue Water Café is just down the road, and I’m so used to my mum getting the name wrong, that every time someone mentions Blu C I just assume they’re talking about the same place. Perhaps I’ll be a little less confused in the future now that I’ve actually been along to Blu C. It’s just a small café, down the beach end of Beach Road in Christies Beach. But these aren’t just small nibbly meals. You can eat here for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and their dinner menu includes things like Atlantic Salmon, Surf & Turf(or Reef and Beef as they call it), among other classic dishes. I went with a friend on the night her boyfriend was playing a gig, and we had the two aforementioned dishes. Dinner was about $ 60 for the two of us with drinks. The live music is a fairly regular occurrence at Blu C from what I can tell. It seems strange because it’s such a small venue, but it actually works quite well. It’s not intrusive, and it adds a fun lively atmosphere to the night. If you’re just looking for a casual place to grab a bite to eat this is definitely a better choice than Fasta Pasta or Junkfood Corner up the road.
