Having only just adopted a fur baby, I was keen to stock up on some extra goodies for her. The local pet store didn’t have lamb ears in stock, but these guys did.
They stock a massive range of pet needs from dogs to cats, birds and other small creatures. They feature mostly dog and cat products, but have something for everyone.
Their range of dog coats/​jumpers and accessories was huge. They had both a selection of car seats/​harnesses, as well as other speciality items I’ve been looking for online for my pup. In particular, they have pet steps, which I’ve not seen in any other pet store.
The food, treat and toy range is beyond compare. The staff were extremely helpful and very knowledgeable — they gave me advice about what size harness to get, and made sure I wasn’t overfeeding my dog with treats as well.
If you are after something for your own pet, or looking for a gift for a friend, you can’t go past this store. Located just out of the main shopping precinct of Claremont Quarter, on St Quentin Ave.

Just after I got my dog I went on a mad spending spree, buying him a range of collars and coats that he would never end up wearing. I walked past Zoo Pets Department Store during this time and obviously dropped in.
The range is quite good for a smallish shop, there will probably be something for your furry or fishy friend that catches your eye. Collars, leads, toys and dog beds in store, plus the staff are informative about each product.

Places like this are what pet stores SHOULD be — instead of cute, furry things in small glass cages getting groped and annoyed all day by children and adults alike, Zoo Pets Department Store sells all your pet necessities. All types of pet food, bowls, leads, toys, treats — everything you could possibly think of, and plenty you probably couldn’t.
In terms of actual pets though, they do sell fish and a HEAP of fish accessories. So if you REALLY need your animal fix, that’s as good as it’s gonna get. And that’s how it should be.

I do love a good pet store, going in and playing with the puppies and kittens and bunnies, there’s just so much cuteness you could die happy. Zoo isn’t a pet store however, the clue is in the title it’s a pet ‘department’ store, still didn’t stop me being hopeful to see some fluffy animals. But yes, if you have a pet this is where you need to go for all their necessary and unnecessary needs. They stock all those basic needs like pet food, water bottles, leads, beds and the such, and then all the fun stuff like toys, and clothes (I still don’t understand animal clothes, but that’s just going to be an unsolved mystery in life I think). You can buy your goldfish here though! So if you’re housesitting for a friend and accidentally kill their fish (which actually did happen to me, worst!), you can run here and replace them before anyone knows! The staff here are very friendly and willing to help.
