Asked for a salmon salad about three times yet I was given a salmon sandwich. I wasn’t fussed since it was still a pretty good sandwich. Pleasant surprise to have a place like this around the area though since most of the shops around are more on the fried sector.

Hipster? Grunge? Construction site? All of my nerves are confused. The staff here are über totes grunge inspired hipsters. Beards and all. Almost kinda friendly but not quite but maybe they could be. Certainly not unfriendly. The décor is a bit in the Confucius side of life. As in confusing. Thankfully the Allpress coffee offers out a olive branch if forgiveness. The staff here know their coffee and how to serve it up. Most people we saw come through dashed in and out for a tasty takeaway. Worth stopping by for takeaway treats of good quality, well prepared coffee. The rest is a bit eh, not worth writing home about.

Incredible coffee and gluten free options available. The staff were very pleasant and the music fitting. This is a nice place for a simple, healthy meal and a great coffee. I will be back!

Great coffee and friendly service. The menu is simple, but well executed, with vegetarian and gluten free options. Was pleased when I moved into the area to have this nearby, best place in the area for my money.

8th Nerve is not located on a café lined street or between strips of shops. It’s located in the suburb of Coburg, quietly sitting on a busy factory lined street. It sits across a home centre with Bunnings, officeworks, and the likes. If you have to spend your weekends shopping for ‘home improvements’, you wouldn’t usually find any oasis nearby to get a decent coffee. You wouldn’t expect to find a café like this so close yet so far from the bustles of Gaffney Street. The service is fast and attentive, the place is small and inviting, coffee is good and the pastries are even better. The café is owned by a proudly deaf owner who lip reads orders, and you can’t help but just love this place. Just watch out for the all the locals who will protect this hidden gem.
