Fruity yummy coffee. Nice to have options around good lunch staples like toast and eggs, so you can pretty much order exactly what you fancy. Friendly staff

Nutella and peanut butter milkshake was a winner. The Greek on Green(avocado on olive sourdough with mixed salad) was a little disappointing, not as much olive oil for my liking although the chilli was a nice touch. The French Kiss looked amazing.

Definitely my favourite of the slew of new cafes opening in the North End of the City. Lovely staff and ambiance and a great many posts for puppy-sitting, which makes Ruby’s a great daycare centre-puppy watching(gossiping) spot. The permanent menu is simple, straight to the point and delicious, with mixed-up dishes like french toast with strip bacon, as well as a great ever-changing specials menu with veggie options including mushroom and tomato homemade pie and eggplant stacks. Coffee is good, which is just the cherry on the pie.

Good coffee, good food, good ambience, but crowded Sat morning slowed the kitchen down a lot. Just off Merri Creek walking track so nice way to get there.

I can’t think of a better or more suitable name than ‘Ruby’s’ for this little gem of a café. You’ll find Ruby’s on the north end of Nicholson st, right off the tram track and perfectly positioned near the Merri creek’s hanging bridge path. The café adds a splash of ‘something new’ to a small row of specialist shop, and makes hanging around this area just a little bit more hip and fun. The lack of other café competition doesn’t get these guys to slack off though, during our visit the café was cool, friendly, and welcoming. The menu is small but exciting. We love the milkshake menu with flavours like banana & co(banana and coconut milk), nutella and almond, and the list goes on. Coffee is great, and the menu comes across as modern with a Greek twist with things like Spanakopita; French kiss(french toast with greek yoghurt and house lemon curd); peas and haloumi; but don’t be fooled, they serve good ol’ traditional comforts like banana and nutella jaffles. add fresh selection of cakes, this place is definitely one to watch for the sweet tooth. Ruby’s space is retro hip and very welcoming, it’s kids and pet friendly, but it’s quite amazing what they’ve managed to do in a small fitting. There’s even artworks display on the wall, for sale, and for envying. the only thing they need, is outdoor seating for the summer crowd :)
