Went here for Breakfast, it was pretty busy. The service was great however we were told no variations to any meals on a Sunday. Fine by us. Smashed Avo with bacon and a poached egg was absolutely delicious. Awesome coffee and very quick

I guess a café/restaurant/place that is based on a once government run establishment is going to have some red tape issues. On a side note Free Wifi. As you’ll notice everywhere you look, because there are a lot of signs telling you there is Free Wifi. Having dropped by for coffee and cake I left the Old Cop Shop a little dazed and confused. It’s not really a café but it’s not really a high end suburban eatery. On first appearance you think high end. Lots of dark wood, deep warm colors, with big open windows providing a lot of natural light. And Free Wifi. Décor wise this place has some great police items that have been donated and delightfully framed and mounted. Looks great. Totally clashes with the crazy Aunty style decorating that has gone on. Inspirational quotes on faux rustic wooden boards? Huh? I’m confused. One thing I found odd was how close the tables are to one another. Creeping back into the suburban café style of squish as many people in as possible. I imagine on a weekend that this place would be rowdy. The menu is short, inoffensive and under whelming. Offering the traditional breakfast/lunch/dinner offerings. To our disappointment there was no cakes on offer. Not even a muffin. Price wise it’s up there for the big spenders. For lunch you’re not getting much change out of a $ 50 for a main, a drink and a hot beverage. Take note– the venue here is new. Really new and it really shows. The staff where lovely but there where a lot in. 4 staff members for a Wednesday lunch service? It seems a bit excessive. The staff didn’t mention any specials to the table or knew what was served with dishes. They also didn’t come back and advise what the chef had told me. Which was an issue as we had food allergies to cater for. Now the real kicker was the coffee. Two lattes later and I was really sad. Slightly burnt and super flat coffee was delivered to the table. Flatter than a teenage boy.
