Off the Kerb is a Melbourne-based Artist Run Initiative, which fosters and exhibits Australian and International Artists, Curators, Designers and Sound Producers. Founded by Shini Pararajasingham in 2007, Off the Kerb is run by a small group of creative minds.
Located in the heart of Collingwood, Off the Kerb offers Melbourne a unique gathering of experimental and commercial contemporary art and creative practices. The small team nurtures emerging artists, helping them further develop their practice. This is where we are unique, as we are a developmental space, we focus on propelling new and upcoming talent further into the public arena. The committee’s continuous professional development is an additional core competency of Off the Kerb.

Established by Shini Pararajasingham in 2007 Off the Kerb is a Collingwood institution that continues to grow within the City of Yarra Community.
Meet the Business Owner
Shini P.
Business Owner
Shini Pararajasingham is the Founder and Director of Off the Kerb. Her role is in the strategic direction of the gallery and the creation of a calendar of exhibitions and special artistic projects that contribute to a dynamic independent arts sector in Victoria renowned for innovation, excellence and internationally recognized standards.
Shini’s key objective at Off the Kerb is to provide a number of benevolent programs and projects with the help of government and key organisations to provide significant development opportunities for local and international artists that will benefit their creative careers.
Shini’s academic achievements include a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Monash University (2003) and a Bachelor in Arts (Psychology) and Business Marketing at Monash University (1998).
Since completing her BFA, Shini has been a finalist in the prestigious, «John Leslie Art Prize», the Toyota Community Spirit Show and the She Series Award at Walker Street Gallery. During her Fine Art stud
