Smithward

Excellent curated choice of wine, spirits, and cheese in the most gorgeous tucked away bar. Will be back for sure!

Tucked away on the south end of Smith St this place is minimalist — both in fit out and menu. I like the idea, just drinks, cheese, charcuterie. We enjoyed sitting in the window with a glass of rose and a portonic (port + tonic). Staff were lovely and attentive, providing water and complimentary almonds. Will definitely be back to try the cheese. My only small issue is that with the wines start at around $ 13 and such a small list (i.e. 3 white wines only) this place might sometimes be a bit pricey for the vibe it has. It seems like a lovely place to have an afternoon or early evening drink and some snacks but when that might set you back say $ 35-​$ 40 it might not be the first place I head to. That said what I had was great and the place is still pretty new, and with decent wine/​cheese focused places still not that common on Smith St, I will definitely be back.

Beautiful people, beautiful concept, beautifully executed. Simple yet perfect. And not an ironic beard or an attitude in sight.

Lovely is the best way to describe Smithward. Delightfully simple, intimate and welcoming. Will be back!
