This is a restaurant which makes you feel special. You could be forgiven for feeling you are in the depths of rural life, yet you are just minutes from Blackwood or Happy Valley. The drive there was a relaxing buffer between a busy day at work and relaxing in this comfortable, warm environment. There were Linens on the tables, fresh flowers and lit candles. The décor gives a nod to the hamlet of Corromandel Valley and Austria, but it’s not overpowering, or stuffy in any way. We walked in the rose and lavender gardens on the creek bank before others joined us and this was delightful. I had neglected to advise a baby would be with us when I booked, this was no problem at all, a high chair being provided promptly, and the baby welcomed. Being a Thursday most of us took advantage of the special which was two courses with a choice from entrée, main and dessert with a glass of wine for $ 38. The quality of the food was very high, the choices good, presentation great, and the quality of the meat first class, steak was amazing. The deserts were all made on the premises, a rarity these days. The apple strudel was Devine, spiced to perfection and beautifully handmade. A beautiful night out, I highly recommend this family owned business
