Surprisingly good. We tried this place because we had previously gone to the other Indian place next door which had fantastic reviews on Unilocal, but found it mediocre despite always being packed. Bundu Khan is always empty, no doubt because they were on the NSW Health Inspection ‘name and shame’ list in early 2013 for several repeated breaches(we only found this out after eating there). We were the only people in there, but I have to say, the food was extremely tasty, we tried a few curries and naan breads and they were all great. No Delhi belly afterwards. These guys have obviously cleaned up their act, but the place is still deserted every time I walk past. Honestly though, this is the best Indian I have had in Crows Nest. Just give it a chance.

I’ve had this place twice for take away and both times I really enjoyed it. The menu is extensive and the various dishes have all been enjoyable. We originally chose this place one day when working late due to the fact that they serve ‘Chicken 65′. A coworker wanted it because her grandma makes it for her when she is back in India. Granted she said this was not as good as her grandma’s cooking(but nothing is ever as good as grandma’s cooking), I thought it was great. Its fried, has onions, and sauce. Other than that, the goat dishes are flavourful and can be made spicy. The sauces this place churns out are amazing, but be aware that there will be bones. Don’t be shy and just pick them up and rip every bit of meaty goodness off of them, you know you want to and if you got this as take away you can do it in the privacy of your own home. Finally, this place makes naan with the best of them. Chewy and buttery is there anything else you could want?

You know how Brick from Anchorman loves lamp? And stabbing dudes with a trident? Well, I love goat. Goat, goat, goat. Something about it’s slow-cooked tenderness gets me. And the fact that it’s spiced like nobody’s business. And comes smothered in rich, dark gravy. And the bone — the bone, dammit! There’s something immensely satisfying about gnawing on a bone. It’s genetic, I’m sure of it, some throwback from our caveman days where we hunted and killed and ripped meat from femurs with our strong, yellow teeth. Plus, goats are pretty ornery, so devouring their delicious flesh and licking your fingers afterwards is kind of an ‘Up Yours, We Won’ to goats everywhere. With their strange slit-like pupils and those silly little beards. Hee hee hee! Ahh, goats ain’t so bad I suppose. Not gonna stop eating them though. Especially not when Bundu Khan keeps making their Goat Curry like they do.

Word of mouth led my partner and I to this BYO Indian restaurant one weeknight. Bottle shop right next door so convenient to pick out your wine or beer. $ 3.50 corkage p/person. The food and service here were both great. Service was prompt although the restaurant was a bit quiet. The spicy rice was a very nice complement to the butter chicken and the chicken vindaloo. The vindaloo was lovely — nice and hot! The chicken tikka masala starter was also delicious. I know, heaps of chicken… The garlic naan on the side was perfect. I look forward to visiting again soon even though there are a bunch of Indian, Thai and Nepalese restaurants scattered around the area that I would like to try.

There are a few Indian restaurants in the area but I was drawn to this one because of their Balti dishes and vegetarian menu selection. The special rice dish, nan bread and our food were all good but special mention to the Chicken Balti dish which was excellent. This place has a dark but intimate atmosphere and the service is prompt and friendly. They have a few screens showing Bollywood movies which can be distracting or a talking point –depends on your point of view! I shall return soon!
