Absolutely the best place for fruit and veg in the Crows Nest area. They have free onsite parking for customers, so that’s a huge plus in my book. They have an extensive range of fresh produce and also a comprehensive deli section with all kinds of meats, smallgoods, cheeses and gourmet groceries. One could compare Superfresh to Thomas Dux, but without the faux feel, this place is real, family owned. Most important;y, unlike Thomas Dux, Super Fresh it is not part of the Coles/Woolworths dupoply. Support local small business! I never tried the coffee bar but it looks good, I just don’t drink coffee. Friendly staff, reasonable prices., my only complaint is that I’d like to see some organic fruit and veg offered, and for that I have to knock off one star, otherwise I love this place. If they bring in organic fruit & veg I would update the rating to 5 stars.

Superfresh is a deluxe grocer if ever I saw one. While the spacious fruit and veg section boasts aisles wide enough for two trolleys abreast, here you can also find more specialty produce like blood oranges(a hefty $ 3 a piece) and tamarillos. On the right hand side of the store is the refrigerated and pantry sections. Their selection of Nonna’s gourmet meats is extensive, so I’ll usually pop down here if I’m after something for dinner that doesn’t involve too much effort — like the pre-trussed chicken involtini with fresh herbs or their gluten-free beef sausages with tomato, garlic and spinach. You’ll also be able to get items like duck fat, imported Swedish lingonberry cordial, pretty much every kind of canned good from the La Nova Italian range of tomatoes and pulses, plus a very varied range of cous cous. There is an in-house smallgoods section and small café area, but it’s a bit strange to sit down for morning tea inside a supermarket, so grab your coffee and cake to go.

Superfresh is like a big version of a supermarkets fresh food area. It’s more spacious than that even. At first I thought it would be like a local market experience but I ended up feel like I was in a barren land of apples and pears. They do have a lot of produce and a decent variety of fresh food including hams, cheeses, oils and nuts. I like the cake and coffee counter with the big wooden table in front of it so you can rest part way through shopping if you like. But to be honest there are nicer cafes in Crows Nest and gourmet deli’s with a more unique range. Good for locals and take away coffee from the counter.
