Currambine Pharmacy and News is similar to a lot of pharmacies, in that it doubles as a gift shop. However, the«gift shop» section is substantially larger than the«chemist» section — I suppose gifts are more profitable than medication. The gift shop section features gifts for just about everyone. There is also a decent range of magazines. As for the chemist side, there is a decent range of medication. Their prescriptions are somewhat sparse, but they are happy to order in medication not on their shelves, which usually takes about a day. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and will ask about your medication régime [if you have one] to ensure that there are no obvious, adverse interactions.

I cut my foot open one time. It was pretty horrific. I did it on a chair. There was blood everywhere. I didn’t even cry once. Some people call me a hero, whatever, I’m not in it for the glory. But mum was insistent on taking me to the pharmacy because she thought it was a deep cut. The crew at CPN, after laughing at me for whimpering in pain when they touched the hangy-off piece of skin, gladly put a little bandage on me and sent me on my way. They were so helpful and the whole team came down to get in on the joke that was my foot. I also buy newspapers and card from them as well because they’re pretty cheap and local. And the girls are always lovely.
