Darch Plaza

Darch plaza. To me it’s like a milk bar all in one «plaza». There’s an IGA for all your daily needs. There’s a few takeaway shops & that’s good enough to service the people of Darch.
One thing in particular that minus the 2 stars is the pharmacy (which I cannot be bothered listing it as a business). It’s UDC chemist inside Darch plaza which is a disappointment each time. The pharmacist stands around to chat when obviously I was sitting there waiting for a script to be filled. Don’t care to ask whatsoever. I do not like or appreciate the «don’t care» attitude from staff. Anyway, won’t give them my business again. Bad experience every time.
The other star missing is I get harassed by the charity stalls/​booths that purposefully set up outside IGA. Being a plaza that small, it’s hard to escape & it’s not that I’m not generous but once you allow them to talk to you… You’ll be there for a while & holding your groceries. I know they are just doing their job but it’s like a trap. People might avoid going to Darch plaza if the charity booths are gonna stalk the people passing by.
Yes I would still go to Darch plaza cause it’s close to me & convenient to pickup bread from Brumby’s & the Darch fish & chips shop is pretty good.

Good place. Not so crowded. Open n bright. Indian take away shop which name I cannot recall is good. I belong to same taste that they cook so I can say they got quiet authentic taste and all vegetarian.
Well priced. What more you ask for lol.

The locals have been waiting for this little shopping centre for a long time. I think so they didn’t have to brave Kingsway on a busy Saturday morning. The biggest store is the IGA supermarket, it also has the standards of newsagent, fish and chips, real estate and aof course the Bar and Bistro. If you live just down the road, this is convenient, but if you have to drive more than a few minutes, you are probably better off checking out Kingsway.

The suburbs of Perth are sprinkled with little shopping centres, or clusters of stores emulating a shopping centre without walls. Darch Plaza is one such «establishment.»
Sporting a range of basic necessities (a bank, a couple bakeries, a few take away venues and a news agency) it is also conveniently placed just an extended car park away from the Kingsway bar and bistro. This plaza is on the smaller scale of local shops and I have never been inspired to make it a regular call in point. I do see one particular Indian restaurant get a lot of business so I might just pop in to see what the fuss is abut when my next curry craving strikes.
